Hi All, here is a quick background on me!
I am a 23 year old caucasian male and I have been on Dan's regimen for 3 years now. It has reduced my acne, however it has by no means made me clear. I suffer from mild-medium acne and always seem to have 1 or 2 active pimples (whiteheads) on my face. I tend to pop them so it leaves an ugly red mark which heals within a few days. The regimen is a big pain for me because I am so paranoid about missing an application of BP that it prevents me from enjoying life (Swimming, camping, etc) so I decided to try and find something else so I can eventually get of BP. I will still be on it for the duration of this log.
I did some research and stumbled upon pantothenic acid. I read the study that Dr. Leung conducted as well as countless logs and reviews and decided to give it a go along with acetyl l-carnitine. Before anyone chimes in and says the study is flawed, I am well aware. I am a pharmaceutical rep and a big part of my job is to read studies, so I know there are tons of holes in it I will also be taking acetyl l-carnitine along with the B5.
The reason for this blog is this: while I was reading through other peoples' logs I noticed that a lot of them quit after only a month or two and didn't see it through. So it is hard to tell whether hey gave it enough time to see results.
I have been taking these vitamins for about a year and half and will also continue taking them along with the b5:
Cod Liver oil (2x/day)
Zinc 50g (1x/day)
Beta Carotene (Previously 5g/day, now only 1g/day)
I plan on sticking with B5 for a minimum of 4 months. Here's hoping it works!!
