#3428022 Do You Agree?

Posted by uncle buck on 23 April 2014 - 02:49 AM

It's plain as day for everyone who has even tried a natural lifestyle. People without the self-control to make a lifestyle change are going to debate around in circles all day because it's the only thing they're good at. Not even worth arguing anymore, I don't even visit the other forums (except The Lounge) because there's no real information there.

As for the bias, I think it's obvious and necessary. I don't have a problem with Dan saying what he wants because it's his site, and in the long-term it's created a community of people who can discuss it.

#3406908 I'll Never Understand Why The Severely Obese Don't Have Acne Issues

If poor health doesn't affect your hormones it affects something else, whatever part of your body is most vulnerable. This is always going to be different. It's like being in a car crash and asking why you lost your leg, and the other guy lost his arm.

There's probably an overweight forum somewhere with someone asking "Why doesn't this person with acne gain weight? HOW DO THEY DO IT?"

#3352307 Will This Fast Work In The Long Run?

Posted by uncle buck on 27 May 2013 - 03:26 AM

A fast can't possibly work in the long run, or it wouldn't be a fast.

In circumstances like this, I find people's definition of "healthy" to be wildly variant. Maybe she's still eating a ton of refined carbs with "healthy" labels slapped on them by the manufacturer. Saying you're healthy doesn't really tell us much.

It's always low fat dairy causing problems. Breaks my fatty heart.

#3233285 Documentary On Genetically Modified Foods (They're Deadly & We Eat Em)

The irony in this thread has reached it's apex.

You all appear to be passionate about this. So I sincerely hope you all get out of the house and do something about these problems other than talk, ponder, and trade online petitions to make yourselves feel better.

I sincerely hope this. But somehow, I doubt any of you will ever step up and prove me wrong.

In the end it dosen't matter. The doers (not you) will make the decisions, and the spectators (you) will worry, complain, and write their congressman. This is how it has always been.

Making the right individual choices is the most powerful thing a person can do. I don't like people downplaying this, it's everything. Despite delusions of grandeur, you only control yourself.

Expecting someone (or yourself) to save the world single-handedly is not going to get anything done and only drive you to insanity and drive others away. Lead by example.

Here's a challenge: find a healthy group of food that you can stick to for the rest of your life.

Goodbye worries.

#3200375 What Did You Eat Today?

I'd eat that.

This thread really turned to shit for a few pages. If people would eat more real food, there would be less acne and less whining.

Cheese melted on bacon strips and broccoli

so good

I see your cheese covered bacon and I raise you some chocolate covered bacon.

Really, does chocolate go well with bacon? What kind? I love cocoa but only ever mix it with cream, or coconut, spices etc. I don't feel it goes well with meat (or veggies either), but maybe I just haven't found the right angle.

The worst thing I ever made was an egg / cocoa / butter hybrid all blended together before being cooked. A real learning experience. :D

The other day I downed 500ml of cream just to prove a point. The look on everyone's face was priceless, seeing the fittest guy in the room destroy their myths about shitty wholegrain bread and fruit shake diets. One woman was in hysterics and called for an ambulance.
