#3347342 The real cause and cure for chronic acne

Posted by Thehoper on 09 May 2013 - 10:48 PM

Yeah this is a good thread.  Its something we all need to be reminded of, stress if killer for all not just acne.  Funny because Im in the middle of  A New Earth right now by Tolle, I read Power of Now and it was one of if not the best book Ive ever read, and was something that can help everyone.  We all deal with much psychological stress especially western people.  We live in a robot world where everyone is on auto pilot consumed in their thoughts.  Need to unprogram yourself and live in the now, outside of ego, bring peace back into your life.  Moment by moment.  Yoga/stretching/meditation are all life changers no doubt.

Haha I love Eckhart Tolle, guy is awesome, love his books.  Postive mind and not caring about acne is important.  The whole go look into a mirror 400 times saying I love you I think would be more negative, because your just being so fake.  Just stop caring about acne, literally, many people develop deep emotional ties with acne that create so much worry and anxiety etc.  Live your life in the now as much as possible and don't let acne get you down, I think that's most important.

And yeah Ive been juicing for like 6 months now and love it!  I juice cucumber, celery, carrots, red cabbage and ginger.  All have their purpose.  I have tried Spirulina before and broke out along my jaw, if you search a lot of other people break out from it too, could be a detox since it releases a ton of metals and toxins, I was too chicken to carry on and right after I stopped the breakouts went away.

^^haha Im pretty sure she just meant that one day or here and there.

But anyway what refined carbs did you eat 400g of?  And fruit doesn't cause an insulin spike, I've read a lot of diabetics testing that theory any only some dried fruits like dates spike insulin.  There was one study where a guy ate 15 bananas in a row and didnt spike his blood sugar or insulin.  And yeah Ive done countless hours as well throughout the years, Im all good now too I come on this site for this nutrition forum because I find it all interesting somethin to read when bored.   My diet is similar to yours but I eat probably double the calories at least haha, I'm a male so need to eat to stay muscular.  The only carbs I eat are lentils and bananas, lentils are very low GI and have actually been shown to HELP insulin resistance.  I eat sweet potatoes as well here and there.  But ya good for you bet you are a pretty girl from the looks in your avatar pic hit me up haha.. half jokin.. peace.

Yeah low carb does work for some people, like ya said having to do with insulin and release of adrenal hormones.  Blood sugar.. etc.  Others high carb low fat works lol, it is crazy ya just gotta see what works for ya.  Some people on 80/10/10 claim their acne went away on it and that diet is all carbs.  For me balance works best.  Without carbs I have no energy and and get too skinny.  But yeah congrats to ya :)

Well that's not true.  We are consciousness, our thoughts are everything, you could be very well be the reason why your disease lingers.  Someone who has allowed their egoic mind to overtake them, they begin to live life completely in their thoughts, living in the past and worrying about the future.  You are constantly distracted from the here and now, the present.  Theres so much mental illness in western society because people dont take mental health serious, or spirituality which is very foolish.  If you often experience a negative state of mind your setting the perfect environment for illness and disease.

You need to take back control of your mind and stay in there here and now, where negative thoughts cant exist because you live in the no thought state of mind, what meditation teaches you.  This is hard to understand for many and would take me too long to explain but if your interested you should read a book called "Be here now" for a lot of you may very well change your life.  Especially people with acne who most of the time have become slaves to their egoic mind.  Someone who struggles with staying in the present and has anxiety, depression, nervousness, worry literally needs to take life just as a drug addict and take it one step at a time.  Moment by moment.  Be aware of your thoughts that send you into negative places and erase them, bring yourself back to now, be focused on what your doing.  Many people are so used to living in their thoughts its very hard to break that spell, your ego mind wants you to distract you from the now and keep you down, you need to learn to expel those thoughts, forgive yourself.  Your suffering will end when you are able to learn how to live life completely in the present.

Well to be too clean as we know is bad.. your body needs germs, and you need a strong immune system.  Constantly stripping your acid mantle with anti-bacterials and such will make your skin more likely for breakouts, more sensitive, and make you dependent on the topical.  If you stop it will be far worse until your acid mantle regains strength.  Thats why I dont understand at all why people still use BP and other harsh chemicals.

Not washing your face at all though is ridiculous, your going to have a serious build up of dead skin, theres no need to not wash at least once a week.  And everyday wipe your face with a dry tissue.   This in my definite honest opinion is the best way to go for best looking skin, healthy glowing and STRONG able to fight against infections.. and still combating with a good diet and supplements from within.  I get compliments on my skin quite a bit now which Im totally not used to lol, but my skin really does look better then a lot of people even those who never had skin problems, a lot of people tell me I look really healthy.

Damn girl I feel for ya.  Really sad to hear the pain and sadness your going through.  Your a really great person and it sucks that some really great people have to go through such long bouts of suffering.  Sounds like you really need a hug lol.  I can relate as I was going down that path, but stopped myself and realized overall health is much more important then curing acne.  Remember that post I had a little while back?  I remember you posted right after me talkin about this same thing.  Can't sacrifice all for getting rid of acne, ends up in a bigger mess.  Also has to come a time when you don't care about having a breakout here and there, because as we know the more we worry the worse it gets.

For me when I stopped caring completely, and just eating a bunch of whole foods to try getting back into good strong shape since Im a male, everything improved.  Was just enjoying life again and hangin out with people and I hardly ever broke out.  For me diet had cured all my acne except for hormonal stuff around my mouth and chin.  After taking carlson fish oil and hemp oil for the GLA everyday I never get any breakouts anymore.  I know you have tried everything and that just makes me sad that nothing is working for you.  I know going down this road to just be thankful that I was able to clear my case.  Funny thing is I still have marks and a few scars, and now Im kind of self conscious about those lol, thats one thing I have DEFINITELY realized, is that on this road we not only become obsessed with no breakouts, but absolute perfect skin.. well at least me and I definitely think you too, I see your pics on your blog and you look great.  We are like those people who go crazy with losing weight and get a distorted view of ourselves in a mirror, you probably think your skin is wayyyyy worse then other people think.  Your a cool good looking down to earth chick fuck breakouts here and there down let em take your spirit and pride.  Show off that beautiful smile haha :)

Yes many people are very gullible, and will buy into almost anything someone with a calm confident voice tells them.  It's obvious in the amount of people still believing Obama's lies.  There is definitely holistic companies out to make a buck just like pharm's, but for people who are actually educated and experienced we know a healthy lifestyle does not include taking a bunch of supplements.  It's means health whole nutrient dense diet first and foremost.  Good exercise and sleep, and then after that take what supplements you need to the minimal amount.  For me that's B5, Zinc, Fish OIl and digestive enzymes.  I have literally studied hundreds of hours in the past on all and am well informed,  Im not a clueless person just putting in random supplements hoping for the best.  Ive met several doctors who I was teaching diet and supplements to because they didn't know.

Organic farming and the holistic lifestyle are both persuaded against in Western medical school that is fact.  The US government has done everything in its power to kill organic farming, Ive worked on organic farms myself have talked to farmers that have been farming for over 50 years who have watched the demise of organic farming.

Having blind faith in your doctor is far, far worse then educating yourself and doing your own research on what is right for yourself.  I regret listening blindly when I was a teenager and going through endless rounds of anti-biotics, look how many people are completely fucked in this world from the psychosis drugs being handed out like candy, all the latest mass murders were all on prescription meds that literally make you go mad.  Kids starting out at 12 years old are getting on these drugs and its becoming an epidemic, destroying the mind.  How many people go to the doc with a little pain and are handed Oxycontin, which is nothing more then heroin melted down and added with a few ingredients to make a pill.  Kids are melting them and shooting them up all over the country, we have 10x the amount of OD's off prescription drugs in america then illegal drugs.  Educate yourself, question authority.

Posted by Thehoper on 03 December 2012 - 02:15 PM

That was a great post.  Good for you for being open with others, huge majority of people aren't brave enough to display their bad memories.  Amazing how those little experiences of others putting us down stays with us huh?  lol.  I still remember some bull shit from years ago about some kid I don't even care about putting me down in front of others, and I shrugged it off and didn't care, and yet still remember it clearly to this day.  It's like they take a little piece of your pride ya know, some times a big piece, but the lesson in the end is to never let anyone take any piece from ya no matter what they say or do.

Everyone has experiences in their life which shadow their thoughts of worthiness.  We all have to remember every day is a new day, the past is the past, your all children of the divine and deserve just as much as every other soul on this world.  Don't be afraid of what they'll say.. who cares what cowards think anyway?

And I looked over some of your other posts and ya look damn good to me girl haha, I like that yoga/free spirit look ya got goin on, unique.  Great smile in your juice fast post.  Good luck to ya.

#3295382 What Has Worked For You? My Update/advice After 2 Years On Natural Road.

Posted by Thehoper on 16 October 2012 - 01:35 PM

Ha funny you say that I have been researching juicers the last couple of days and about to pull the trigger on the $99 one on amazon, has a ton of great reviews.  I used to do green smoothies all the time but never have done juicing.  Id like to start off my day with a mix that will stabilize blood sugar throughout the day, which i believe effects my skin a lot along with the whole hormones thing.. cucumber, celery, parsley, beet, carrot, cilantro and ginger.  That might just keep me completely clear, thatd be pretty cool lol.. but yeah i can keep updating on here how the juicing is going with me too..

ACV on the skin is great.  Its funny because I used to use it all the time, but usually straight, and I would notice a worsen in redness, and after a while stopped it.. then a couple months ago was reading some other forum and people were saying to make sure to dilute it, one of those less is more things, well Ive been using is diluted and its working so much better then straight.  I even dilute it pretty good now too like 75% water 25% ACV seems to be perfect for my skin.

#3295112 What Has Worked For You? My Update/advice After 2 Years On Natural Road.

Posted by Thehoper on 15 October 2012 - 02:44 PM

Hey.  So I want to start a topic where people say what has, and hasn't worked for them, or things you really know after experimenting break you out.  Some of you will know me, I started on the natural road about 3 years ago but have been completely serious for about 2 years now.  My severe acne was cleared within months, but I have never been completely acne free.  I still get breakouts around my mouth/jaw.

I've been looking more into probiotics, candida supplements again.. different enzymes.. but Id really like to get to the bottom, although I think that may be impossible.  A strict healthy diet is absolutely great for your overall health and skin, but as far as curing acne it won't, it will just help it a lot.  We have hormone problems that obviously science has not been able to figure out with acne prone people, but really you can be the healthiest person in the world, and if your acne prone its not going to matter, you will still get breakouts.  The good thing is that breakouts dont NEARLY effect me at all as they used to.  Had some experiences over the summer and met some really awesome people who changed my view on skin problems.  Because in the end stress is the biggest killer of all, and I know a lot of you are very stressed.

There has to come to a point where you literally accept having not perfect skin.  You cannot allow it to hinder your entire existence.  It's hard.  I know.  Really hard.  But it has to be done.  Literally do not give a fuck about breaking out lol, it will help you 100x more then stressing and being bummed about it ever will.  I know its cliche but your sand is always running.. you will die one day and hopefully not be like wow I really let a skin problem effect me that much?  And seriously people don't care about skin problems as much as you think, YOU CARE more then anyone else.  You have to rid those negative thoughts and emotions and be confident, your personality/mood is a lot louder then any breakout.

Next I want to discuss diet.  This can seriously be dangerous.  I went through an obsession and I read threads on here and see sooo many going down that terrible path.  For all you males out there, stop with the raw vegan shit.  Your weight will wither away and your health as well.. from what I have learned its literally as bad as just starving yourself if you have weight problems.  You need to eat.  Organic rice, beans, eggs, lean meats, get back to being a normal sized man.  I have gained back about 30 lbs since I got off raw vegan and I finally feel freakin normal again.  I am 6ft and at one point was down to 140.  Im at 170 now and feel like a completely different person.  Always keep your overall health mental and physical number one priority over getting rid of your acne.  That can be a dangerous road that just leads to a depressing lifestyle.  Don't lie to yourself saying its great, because you know its not lol.

As far as supplements I have tried all under the sun, and the best in the end are Zinc and B5.  B5 is I believe essential for acne prone, I take 1000mg a day, haven't had any side effects of hair loss or anything either.  I have tried GTF chromium in the past too which really seemed to help so Im looking into that again.  Probiotics always broke me out so Im on the fence about trying those again.  Digestive enzymes have always been great, dont know how but they seem to get rid of breakouts very fast, if you ever get cysts them seem to be the all powerful cyst killer too.

As far as washing skin, I still believe less is more.  I shave with an electric, and wipe my entire face with distilled water/acv.  Best thing I have tried for scars/red marks is rubbing a potato on them, seriously works.  Aloe from plant works just as well but is sloppy, potato and then better yet after rub a cucumber on there for double effect.

Change your pillow case too!  You have no idea the kind of gunk that builds up on pillow cases.  I change mine at least once a week.  But yeah Im still trying to figure out these random breakouts I get around my mouth.. so if anyone has any additional advice thatd be cool.  Peace :)

#3245939 So, Does Not Using Any Acne Products Help It?

Posted by Thehoper on 18 May 2012 - 11:08 AM

stopping all acne products was the best thing I ever did for my skin.  That and eating incredibly healthy.  Harsh acne products are just stripping away your natural acid mantle making your skin vulnerable for sorts of infections.  Then people are using those products usually twice a day allowing your skin no time to heal itself, your skin then becomes dependent on the product, unable to defend itself, which is why it will get bad before its get better when you quit everything.

Dates are so good.  I eat dates, coconut, and figs all the time.  You got a pretty big list there.  It is interesting wondering how accurate it is, like how is it not all cheese, how just cheddar?
