#3398160 Emotionally Conflicted And Guilty!

Posted by Balance Bird on 01 December 2013 - 04:56 PM

Hey guys, soooo

I'm someone who likes to think. I like to know how things function and why they are happening and want to fix them, but I don't prioritize what I think about and know I should.

I'm in college, I got a 4.0 my freshman year, i'm a sophomore now, and I spend SO MUCH TIME researching acne or anything and everything related to it! I dunno where the time goes. I had a few days off for Thanksgiving, and I'm pretty sure I spent 2 and a half full days researching how products clog pores, what I can use in my hair, being paranoid. I feel like if I don't get an answer or something that I will not be complete. I just keep searching and searching, when I really should be getting ahead in my school work…I mean I'm not falling behind, but i'm not getting ahead, and i'm certainly wasting time.

I'm going to reduce this to only an hour a day of acne research, but does anyone find this happen to them. I don't time myself or anything, but I'll be on acne.org then Facebook then reading about this and that, and researching grains for an hour…it's such a problem! I'm addicted to being healthy and wanting to know the best vitamins and foods, and everything.  But I spend too much time trying to find the answers. I should just accept it right, and say, hey, maybe my hour today i'll learn something new.

Thank goodness my grades haven't dropped or anything from this…but i'm kinds upset with myself that I am so obsessed, but the way I look is really important to me, not to be arrogant or anything, but it's just something I care about. I care about my skin, cause i care about myself and my health.

Some people don;t care, I kinda wish I could be a pizza face and just get on with my life, but even during my morning runs I will be obsessively thinking about if the sweat from my headband is going to give me zits! Everyday it's something new that freaks me out a bit!

I just wanna focus on one thing at a time without my acne being in the back of my mind!

I still get my work done, and do it well, but I would be more focused and have more time if I stopped thinking about my skin so much! Any little free time I get…it's usually researching something about skin.

I always have questions I want the answers to, always thinking about this and that.

#3389128 Acne Prone Skin/sebum Deficient In Linoleic Acid, Possible Topical Solution

Posted by Balance Bird on 17 October 2013 - 06:01 PM

I'm really confused. It seems like everyone is like yes! This is a breakthough...but isn't LA just omega 6 and dont we already get a ton of that? How could acne sufferers have an LA deficiency then? I thought we needed omega 3? So confused...

Someone help me! I want to understand and cure my acne! I don't get it! LA omega 3? I thought we needed more omega 3!?

I just don't understand how if LA is from Omega 6, how acne sufferers have a deficiency of it? Is it just LA strictly or GLA and ALA? I thought we get way too much n-6?

#3356288 Low Stomach Acid?

I also really think this is a problem for acne sufferers. I mean if you have a bad diet, eventually you won't have the nutrients to produce good and/or enough stomach acid, and then it's an awful cycle, of low stomach acid and poor absorption

#3306678 Gut Flora And Leaky Gut. After 5 Years I Finally Found The Root Cause And I...

How long time do you have to avoid carbs and legumes for the gut to heal? I drink water kefir everyday to help it heal.

Great answer i think you are absolutely right, but if you already created alot of allergies and you start to eat that instead of what caused it? Then youll still have acne or what?

I wish I could respond better but I'm not entirely sure I get the question. Help me fill in the blank. It seems like you are asking that: "bad dieting and lifestyle, which creates leaky gut, which causes food intolerances and hormone issues, causes acne, so if you start to eat _____________, will you still have acne?"

What is the answer to the blank, to help me understand more

I am clear at the moment after cutting out all sugar, dairy, gluten, nuts, fish and fruits, i will try to add food back to see what is the real cause. I will start with fish and meats.

I am glad you are clear but is there anything you can actually eat then? lol

I don't mean that in a bad way but nuts, fish and fruits are very good food sources. Your food selection seems really limted.

It raises another point. At what point is enough is enough? How many food items do we eliminate?

I think there has to come a point where a compromise is reached that allows one to eat a wide variety of foods. I'm not saying your way is wrong, in fact full respect for having the discipline but i would argue life is there to be explored and enjoyed rather than having an existence just around acne.

Just o be clear. I'm in no way saying what you doing is wrong. Just debating how far do we go before we get so obsessed that everything we eat is to do with acne.

I think we should avoid legumes, seeds, nuts, and grains forever really. They only cause more harm than good! And too many fats mixed with sugar is a problem!
