#3234699 Seriously!?! God I Really Need Help. I Don't Understand.[Chest] P...

Posted by californiaEstie on 15 April 2012 - 03:05 PM

I use Neutrogena Clear Body scrub every time I shower and over time it does a really good job of controlling body breakouts without over-drying the skin. I would suggest using a sulfur based spot treatment every night as well. These 2 things help with prevention and treating your current issue.

Sorry, must be frustrating :(

Thoughts? Good/bad? Clown-like? :)

It's a cell phone picture that's why it looks a little weird, I didn't try and blur it or do weird effects lol.

#3202024 Facials-- What Has Been Your Experience?

Posted by californiaEstie on 07 January 2012 - 09:35 PM

^ I'm sorry you had a bad experience with facials... it's unfortunate. But it is kind of denigrating to say that what we do has no value. I got an intensive education and a license based on my knowledge of skin and how to treat it. We do more than rub creams on.

I am esthetician and I love giving facials. Just make sure your esthetician (and yourself) are clear on the results you hope to see, that you fill out a detailed consultation form, and have realistic expectations. :) It's extremely relaxing and your skin should look and feel much better. Go with good reviews and be cautious.

#3200384 Sun Screen Question

^ Chemical sunscreens need to be absorbed and reapplied. Physical sunscreens are instant protection and much more "durable"

Haha it's not perfect!!!!!

Posted Image But thank you. I am lucky because the first 2 topicals I tried have been working wonderfully for me since March 2009.

You look great! I'm so tempted to buy the Hourglass Primer!! I've read brilliant reviews on this product!! I think it would work wonders under any type of foundation. It's all about the correct tools! I'm torn on the HG Tinted Moisturizer. Price aside I really want the primer!! What did you think of it? Sorry in advance if you reviewed and I missed it....

Thank you so much!! I actually really like the primer as well.
I didn't review it, no worries! It's more liquid-y than your average primer (or at least the ones I've tried)
but it goes on like butta. It actually neutralizes more redness than ( italics aren't turning off sorry) I thought it would,
as you can kind of see in the pictures. It works really well. I asked my boyfriend last night
if he saw any dry patches or something like that and he said no! This is after driving, taking Bart, rubbing my face
on his sweater, hot & cold air, etc! So I am a big fan. And I love that it has SPF 15.

Hourglass Illusion Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15

After shower, scrub, and serum:

After Hourglass primer:

After Hourglass tinted moisturizer (in Shell) and lipstick:

It's an interesting consistency. Tinted moisturizers are always a little tiny bit trickier to blend for me since they are sheer. It makes it more apparent if you've missed a spot. At least on my skin! It should be the opposite, I know, lol. Anyhow. It's very creamy and moisturizing. I definitely think it needs a minute or two to sit and absorb on the skin before judging the outcome. I really like it so far. In the picture it seems a tad too pale for me but in real life it's perfect. It gives that gleam that reminds me of ancient princesses in movies. Dorky. :)

The only thing I can say is what if you never see him again... think about it. I'm pretty sure both of you would be unhappy and you would be kicking yourself off and on for the rest of your life wondering if you could have had this amazing relationship. Regret is a pretty sticky emotion and it tends to be long term. I would start a  conversation with him thru text or whatever you guys do and let him know that you feel your skin isn't perfect. Discuss it lightheartedly (I know.. hard) and see what he says. If he is understanding, which I believe he will be, let him know how much it hampers you. Once he knows he can reassure you. It's not worth the heartache. Let him in..

I just got the Hourglass Illusion Tinted Moisturizer spf 15 today. My skin has been going crazy lately, I think from a combination of things; working in a heated enviroment, cold weather, playing with different skin care products, etc. It's unpleasantly chapped! My neck keeps getting this crazy rash too. But anyhow, the reviews look really good on the tinted moisturizer. I have the Hourglass primer with spf 15 too... still deciding what I think about it. I have to get my skin back to normal before I can make a proper judgement. The Mary Kay foundation I've been using is AMAZING, but not for winter. It controls oil production and is too drying for cold weather. Anyone get anything fun lately? Any new makeup looks? :)

#3192977 Skipping School Because Of Acne?

Posted by californiaEstie on 16 December 2011 - 06:51 PM

Haha what skipping school?

Yes, skipping school is like, really inspiring... Posted Image
Not really, I just got the sense that it's a fair amount of time ago and things have improved and so you've left a lot of that stuff behind.  You certainly don't strike me as someone who would avoid or shy away from things now.  For me personally, having held onto a lot of the behaviours and coping mechanisms from my school school days, those things are now misplaced and have too much of an influence on my thoughts and actions.  After all, it's eight years since I finished my education so it's not appropriate to still hold onto that stuff, be dwelling on it and letting it have the majority share of control.  Going to be necessary to leave that behind and essentially reinvent myself I think.  So ithere's a degree of comfort in hearing that kind of story from someone who has obviously been able to leave that kind of approach behind and move forward.  Shows me that it's not impossible and might not be as difficult as I've always assumed. Posted Image

Haha that's not what I meant!

No I don't really avoid much anymore. I actually would have loved to go to prom and do all that stuff but it just didn't work out for other reasons. :(
Awww yeah after 8 years you can do it! The more you put yourself out into the world, the more rewards you reap. Meeting new friends, having great experiences, learning. It's worth the investment sir. :)
