Waking Up With Acne On Sides Of Face Because (I Think?) Of Pillow

27 July 2014 - 08:37 PM

My skin is pretty sensitive, but if I keep it clean, normally I don't get *too* many breakouts.

I've noticed a trend though. I get most acne on the sides of my face (both of them) which makes sense because those are the sides I sleep on.

I have washed my pillowcase but pimples still appear. I'm almost certain the pillow must be the problem...

Is there anything I can do besides continually washing my pillowcase? I also wash my skin before I go to bed. I just wish there were a protective barrier between my face and the pillow!!!

Also, I can't sleep on my back. I've tried, but in my sleep I turn over to my side.

Really Scared Of Going To College With Acne + Questions About People In College Already?

18 August 2013 - 04:00 PM

Okay. So, I have had bad acne from when I was 13 to now when I'm 18. I thought to myself (like probably many during the summer), that I will get rid of my acne before college. See, I have/had a problem with wearing makeup CONSTANTLY and mean ALL. THE. TIME.

I wore it around my parents, my friends, and even battled not allowing anyone to see my face without it during a 2 week trip abroad my senior year. It was stressful, but I managed to have fun despite these insecurities.

However, I've been waning off using serious amounts of foundation, and my acne has gotten slightly better. I think really it has gotten a LOT better but I just don't see it, because I still see breakouts and places I want gone forever.

I now apply a tinted moisturizer, concealer and then a small amount of mineral foundation, but when I leave to go to college this coming Wednesday, I don't want to have to wear the foundation AT ALL. By that I mean, I want to feel confident enough to have acne on my face, or at least start fresh at college without the baggage of foundation.

OKAY that long story said, I am scared but willing to only wear tinted moisturizer and concealer. However, I'm super self conscious about applying my makeup. I hate thinking about other girls looking at me in the mirror. Also, I'm wondering about washing your face/doing your usual face routine. Do girls just take their facial cleansers and what not to the bathroom, a face towel, and then do whatever they need to do? I have never shared a public bathroom. I AM SCARED OUT OF MY MIND.

Any advice/past experience/help with the whole self conscious stuff would really really be appreciated. smile.png

I Don't Want To Go Swimming

24 June 2013 - 10:17 PM

I have been trying to clear up my acne for years. I always wear foundation and concealer, but I have a trip to the water park with some people in a couple of days....

I don't have any horribly active pimples, but I do have redness and healing pimples pretty much everywhere. If I wasn't so used to wearing foundation everyday of my life, this wouldn't be a big deal. But since I literally haven't gone in public without makeup in years, I don't know what to do.

I don't want to wear a whole face of foundation (and I know I can't), but do waterproof concealers work? To cover up the reddest parts? :/

I am so insecure about my acne that even going without foundation is a HUGE step for me. Any advice? I wish I could just go swimming and not feel so stupidly INSECURE :(

Does anyone go swimming with a face full of acne and not care/just suck it up? PLEASE TELL ME HOW YOU DO IT!!!!
