"I was on a bus and some girl sees me blowing my nose," Harrelson is saying of his early years trying to make it as an actor in New York. "I had acne all over my face, which I'd had for years and years. And she's like: 'Hey, you're lactose intolerant. If you quit dairy, all these symptoms you got will be gone in three days.' I was like twenty-four. And I was like, No way. But three days later: gone."

I've been consuming cacao nibs a few times a week which is a good source of magnesium. I always notice that I feel more stimulated and my muscles are relaxed when I get  back to work after lunch. It's quite pleasant!

In Topic: Cut Out All Carbs And Now I Am Clear?

11 May 2013 - 09:53 PM

I accidentally went very low carb for 5 days one time. I felt like complete garbage by the fifth day and always felt hungry, even though I was getting high calories through the fat content. I guess it was also bad for me since my job is fairly labour intensive. I found out that I need those carbs for my energy needs! Ketosis is still an interesting concept, but I would not want my diet to become restrictive in that regard.

In Topic: Pumpkin Seeds = Zinc? Why Is It Not On The Label?

11 May 2013 - 09:42 PM

As far as I can tell, only vitamin A, vitamin C, calcium & iron are mandatory for nutrition labels (plus all the other stuff: calories, fat, carbohydrates, protein, etc.). A lot of labels don't include the optional vitamins and minerals. Labels for fish don't mention anything about vitamin D. Not sure why. Maybe to save space/money?

At least that has come to be my understanding of it. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
