Apples Give Me Cystic Acne

02 September 2013 - 05:47 AM

Hi Guys,

just wanted to share my finding with you. I'm now 100% sure apples give me cystic acne.

I had a big hunch previously but I wanted to test my hypothesis yesterday (also my mom had baked a delicious apple crumb pie). Surprise surprise, this morning I woke up with a big, fat, early stage cyst on my forehead. Now, I'm absolutely not saying apples are bad for you. Alls I want to share is that you might be sensitive to certain foods.

I wasn't aware of my sensitivity to apples till about 1.5 yrs ago. In my early 20s I used to have acne all over my face and back which I tried to combat with a healthy diet that included at least one apple a day. I thought this sh*t was supposed to be good for me. Well, it might be good for most people out there but for me this meant the worst cystic acne of my life (and it even left some scarring). I NEVER would've thought of it being caused by my daily apple.

Fast forward 6 years and I'm 99% free of cysts. The last one on my face was over half a year ago (also apple-induced) and went away in a couple of days.

Again, this is not a plead for the global annihilation of apples, it's just to inform you that IF you're suffering from cystic acne it COULD BE caused by certain foods. So it might be fruitful (pun intended) to systematically exclude food from your diet and keep a log on how your face/body responds. Or increase the intake of certain foods you already eat regularly and see if that worsens your skin.

I'm really glad I finally found what caused my cysts but I am kinda sad I didn't know this earlier. But then again, I could've gone through the rest of my life blaming my cysts on genetics. I'm never eating apples again, even if that means on turning down some delicious apple crumb pie..

Peace and love

Has anyone tried OCM for an extended period?

29 March 2011 - 06:53 AM

Hi I'm just starting out with the OCM (Oil cleansing method) in a hope to minimize the appearance of my huge pores. At least prevent new ones from forming because of the junk/oil that gets trapped in them..  I'm using a 40/60 (castor/jojoba oil) mixture. It seems that a lot of people on here try it for a couple of weeks and then stop.

Has anyone reading this ever tried the OCM method for an extended period of time? If so, what mixture did/do you use?

Thanks!
