#3439356 #1 Foundations For Acne-Prone Skin

Posted by Valerie44 on 04 July 2014 - 08:34 AM

Ive been using Dermablend Smooth Indulgence Foundation for the last 4 years and love it !  It has awesome coverage but you have to be careful when applying it or it will look heavy. This is by far the best foundation I have ever used.

Feeling great about my acne since I haven't broken out in 3 months now! Spironolactone is my miracle pill, after years of suffering with acne off and on again I can finally say I'm clear!

Feeling really good about my skin, as far as acne goes its finally all gone. I may get a very tiny bump every now and then but it goes away very fast and not noticeable at all smile.png So now I am starting to do my own microdermabrasions with a device I bought off Amazon and real dermabrasion crystals that the professionals use at the salons. I have done 2 so far and I have got to say its awesome !!!!!! My skin feels a lot more clean and smooth, over all complection is glowing, I hope over time they will fade out the acne scars I have too .

Im eating chocolate with no affects yay!!!! Now I want to see if yogurt will give me any troubles but so far no more food sensitivity! My derm told me I could stay on Spiro till I am 55 years old if I decided too lol I'm really hoping I wont need it for that long.....I would hope that at that age I wouldn't get any acne! Glad to see your doing so well now Maria!!!  :)

I'm feeling great and I haven't been able to say that for a few years! This is first time that I did not get a break out after starting my menstrual cycle, thank you Spiro and Ortho Tri-Cyclen!

#3431424 Ortho Cylen/ Sprintec/ Mononessa For Acne

Posted by Valerie44 on 13 May 2014 - 11:20 AM

I've been on Spiro going on 7 months and about to start my second pack of Ortho TriCyclen and my skin is completely clear even thru my menstrual cycle which is the first time I've been clear around this time of month in years!!! I think the birth control was the missing piece in my regimen. So far I'm really liking this bc.

This seems to be a dream that I can be this clear right before my menstrual cycle! I always get cysts at this time but I have none, not even a small pimple which is great but seems unreal, like I am going to wake up to see my old skin back. Spiro has been a life savior for me, I didn't think I could handle all the stress that came with the IB and all the ups n downs of being clear then not clear then being clear and not clear but here I am happy with the out come so far! Once I changed my birth control to Ortho Tri-Cyclen and combined that with the Spiro I have been doing alright.

#3431305 For those successful spiro

Posted by Valerie44 on 12 May 2014 - 05:04 PM

Hi Maria :) All is well here! How are you doing? Still eating dairy and getting the results you want yet? What I'm surprised with is that I'm about to start my menstrual cycle and I don't have one single pimple, this feels so weird since I always get cysts right at this time, it feels great but I'm still waiting around for one to show up lol I know I should be enjoying the Spiro success but I just cant help but feel odd about it. I hope everyone are getting the results they want from the Spiro also :)

#3430792 Bare Minerals New Liquid Foundation

Posted by Valerie44 on 08 May 2014 - 02:56 PM

Please let me know how you like the foundation, Ive been reading mixed reviews on it. From what I have read it says you have to use their Bareskin Perfecting Face Brush or the foundation will look streaky and that its super sheer so it doesn't do much to cover large pores or acne scars. Im really hoping to try it out myself and see :)

So glad to hear you didn't break out on the dairy Maria :) I hope you will be able to eat anything you want and have no bad results from it!!!

That's great to hear!!!! So happy for you and your progress :) I am in the clear stages as well and believe me it does feel nice! I haven't taken a Minocycline pill in 3 weeks now which is unbelievable !!!! I noticed I don't have as much oily skin either, not sure if that's due to my new bc but what ever it is I'm not complaining lol Hopefully we can now focus on other things in life besides acne :)

I'm finding myself being happier and happier with my Spiro progress :) I have not taken a single Minocycline pill in the last 2 weeks and I still haven't broken out yay!!! My derm did give me refills for Minocycline for another 6 months so I might fill one more just in case I need to take it around my menstrual cycle.  My blood work came out fine so I will continue with my Spiro and my new bc :)

#3428174 Posting Daily Retin-A (Tretinoin) Log

Posted by Valerie44 on 23 April 2014 - 04:22 PM

At first I had tons of redness but no flakes....I started off using it every night but that was too much for my skin to handle so I went down to every other night for a few weeks then back to every night and that helped a lot!! Im using Neutrogenas Sensitive Skin Moisturizer and I exfoliate once a day  :)
