#3351170 New Forum Structure

Posted by LoveGreenSmoothies on 22 May 2013 - 09:54 PM

Exactly, it *already* had so many topics so merging it makes no sense. Smaller forums should be merged together to create more space bc they're not tht active. Merging two very active topics is just making things confusing, not efficient IMO.

There's such a big difference between scars and red marks, but so many ppl call redmarks scars and that's where it gets  confusing. It's hard to tell if a topic is scarring or PIH. It's confusing.

Merging hypertrophic and depressed scaring would be fine bc the topics are easy to discern by title and there aren't so many hypertrophic scar topics.

The red marks  forum merged with strophic is confusing and its a problem because the remark forum was one of the more active forums too.

Redmarks are not scarring so I don't think they should be in the same forum.

#3303516 Spiro And Potassium

I agree with Hearts. I wanted to say I didn't think spiro was for you since you seem to have so many issues, bt I stopped myself, because I know how awful acne can be, especially when you know theres something that works, but you can't use. I feel so bad for you because I get it. But you can't take something that will potentially kill you. There has to be so something else you can take. Why can't you use bcp again? I remember telling you you should try it but don't remember if you can't use it for some reason.

Is your thyroid still out of whack? Thyroid issues can cause acne and mess up your hormones. Maybe it's bc of your thyroid that your k goes down, because I don't understand how else it would -- it seems like it would have to be some underlying health issue but idk.

I hope you are able to figure something out that works for you.

This sounds like it *could* be good for scarring since it goes so deep, but that means it has many more risks of further scarring. A total catch 22. Only people with severe scarring should use this until it's been around a bit and they will likely (or should only) do clinicals on severely scarred pts.

Those trials are for burn patients not acne scarring.

#3238747 Will This Ever End? 63 And Counting......

Posted by LoveGreenSmoothies on 27 April 2012 - 02:01 AM

You should get a complete hormonal panel done to check your levels of estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, SHBG. Go to a endocrinologist or maybe even a derm who can run them. An OB/GYN may do it too, but the best is an endo.

Something is off. I'd get tested during the time your skin flares up.

Yeah, you can do that. I was going to suggest it actually.

#3161138 The OIL CLEANSING METHOD (Highly Recommended!)

Posted by LoveGreenSmoothies on 22 September 2011 - 04:03 PM

Well that's because you get an initial purging. It's pulling out all the gunk for good... You can't just give up. You have to give your skin time.

Oh I call BS. I'm so sick of hearing about this "purging" nonsense. A lot of times when people 'purge' it just means it will never work and they're headed for cystic acne and scarring. I fell for the purging crap and ended up with monster acne and scarring. If something breaks you out, you stop. And like someone else said, oils can't clean your face and people with acne have a ton of bacteria that needs to be washed away.

Thank you for taking the time to write all this out!

I would like to add, if it isn't in a link here, that for estrogen dominance, cruciferous vegetables are VERY helpful. Cruciferous veggies being: cauliflower, cabbage, brussel sprouts, and broccoli. I recall kidney beans being good as well. It really helps people with this and with PCOS, because they lower estrogen via some mechanism I can't recall.  wink.gif

PS - Did you used to be SweetJade?
