How Long Does It Take To Breakout From "triggers" And How Long For The Breakout...

16 May 2013 - 10:46 AM

Hi everyone, just a couple of questions to answer please for anyone that has managed to work it out.

How long does it take for you to breakout from any "triggers" that you know you have?

How long does it then take for the breakouts to stop?

Ie. not how long for the breakouts to fade but how long for new spots to stop forming\pop up. Eg. if sugar is your trigger and you eat a chocolate bar, drink a coke etc which then leads to a breakout, how long for the spots to first appear and for how long will spots be triggered to breakout, just one breakout or will you continue to breakout for a while?

Cheers.

Interesting article on the causes of celiac disease:

I believe there might be possible implications to acne through the discussed Gut health - probiotics - autoimmune connection?

Acne is essentially an autoimmune disorder isn't?

Would be interesting to know the rates of acne amongst the Finnish and Russian populations they looked at.

Does anybody know of any research done on acne and intestinal bacteria?

Vitamin A 25,000 Iu Acne Experiment - Any Advice, Experiences? [What Complementary Sups...

18 January 2012 - 01:58 PM

I have been taking Vitamin A 25,000 Iu [NOW brand - http://www.nowfoods....A-D/M002949.htm ] since the 10 JAN 2012.

Anyone else tried anything else similar ? Any advice etc?

I am also taking ~2000-4000 Iu vitamin D and some Vitamin C, i think i am going to get Vitamin E as i can vaguely remember reading something about an interaction with Vitamin A although i could be wrong.

Anyone know what else i should be taking please?

So far not much is happening.

I think i may have had an initial breakout although most likely a complete coincidence or although the chocolate i've been eating.

I think my bowels are already fecked anyway so prob not the cleverest of ideas. If i end up in hospital i will try to remember to put a warning up.

Unless something serious happens i will prob run out the bottle

Ketosis and Fasting / Starvation

28 March 2011 - 01:05 PM

Just wondering how people found ketogenic diets are/were for their skin?
More specifically anyone who found that they made their skin worse?

I only ask because i tried a ketogenic diet recently for just over 5 weeks and for most of it my skin seemed to get worse although it did seem to get better at the end, but even then not the results i had expected, from what i had read. Maybe i was just about to go completely clear and i was just going through the ol' "detoxing stage".

I had to stop the diet due to kidney pain that wasn't going away and disturbing calculus/tartar type deposits on my teeth. I never intended doing it long term anyway, i was just interested to see the affects on myself.

I wonder if anyone else has experienced these calculus / tartar deposits?

I did seem to notice some kind of connection with large boil type nasty spots appearing after longs periods without food, say half a day or more, which was basically fasting and probably exaggerated considering i was already in permanent ketosis. This seems to go against the more common observation of improvements in acne during fasting.

I should note i was eating large amounts of spinach, every day in fact, and that this could have also been the significant contributor to the calculus and/or kidney pain, through the deposit of oxalate crystals. Anyones knowledge on this would be appreciated. Cheers.
