New Spot Treatment - Need Your Help Naming It

07 May 2013 - 01:13 PM

We have finalized a spot treatment which includes 2.5% benzoyl peroxide and 10% glycolic acid. It also contains ayurvedics, anti-inflammatories, and a ton of other good stuff. We're hopeful that it will pass stability, but there are never any guarantees when it comes to that, so fingers crossed.

If it does pass, we will be releasing it, but we still need to decide on a name. Please vote in the poll below and let us know which name you prefer.

Spf Is Coming This Spring

25 February 2013 - 03:00 PM

At long last an Acne.org SPF is on its way.
_____

When: It should be for sale this Spring.

What sizes: It will be sold in an 8oz. bottle and 16oz. bottle for now, but may be available in an 8oz. tube in the future.

SPF rating: After FDA required testing, results are in and it will have an SPF rating of 16. I made sure to choose active ingredients which produce true broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection.

Price: We have not priced it yet. It will be a bit more expensive than the regular Moisturizer since it costs quite a bit more to produce, but we'll do everything we can to keep the price as low as possible.

Thanks for your undying patience with this. I can't wait to hear what you think of it. Follow us on twitter or like us on Facebook to be kept in the loop on when it's available.

Olay Foaming Face Wash (Sensitive)

19 February 2013 - 02:21 PM

Recently we tried 6 more cleansers, hoping to find more foaming yet gentle liquid cleanser options for everyone. As usual, most failed miserably, but one of them came out on top:  Olay Foaming Face Wash (Sensitive). It comes in a 7oz. tube and a 6.8oz. bottle with identical product inside. It lathers well--just be sure to mix in an adequate amount of water to get a good lather going--and is unscented. Unfortunately, it's not perfect because it contains sodium laureth sulfate, but it is the 11th ingredient, and overall the profile is acceptable. Plus it's affordable and widely available. I've added it to the official list of approved cleansers. Please let everyone know what you think of it on the Olay Foaming Face Wash reviews page.

_____

Where to get it:  (Note:  We are not associated with any resellers and receive no commission from any sales)

Amazon:  Tube ($8.48 for pack of 2) Pump ($6.99 for pack of 2)

Your local store:  These are available at most local pharmacies too.

Wonky Labels On 8Oz. Bp: Here's Why

19 February 2013 - 01:35 PM

If you ordered an 8oz. Treatment (2.5% benzoyl peroxide) lately you may have noticed the label looks a little, oh how shall we say...let me look at the thesaurus...askew, awry, cockeyed.

As you guys probably already know, we are always erring on the side of being as green as possible, and when in doubt we'll sacrifice the look of a product if it will help reduce our footprint. Well, recently we ordered a bunch of new labels and our label people incorrectly made them with a metallic layer. It's our bad that we didn't triple check them before they were applied, but next thing we knew they were applied to thousands of our tubes. The choice was to either throw away all the tubes or to fill them as is and send them out looking a little wonky. We chose wonky. And no worries, it's the same good stuff inside. Hope that's cool with you guys. Just wanted to let you know why they might look a little odd when you get them in the mail.
