Retin-A does work but it takes a few months, you won't be happy with the results in the first 2 months.

well tretionoin, which is what I think they prescribe does work. its just like glycolic acid, although its better. it exfoliates the skin very rapidly. if you r willing to just saty indoors the whold summer, u could prob. get rid of the marks by then. although you could wear sunscreen, the only 100% way not to make it worse is to stay out the sun. OR you could just wear on of those sombreros.

My derm perscribed me retisol, is it the same thing as retin-a? She said it should help fade my marks and scars. She told me to come back and see her in 6 months so I guess this retisol will take a while to work. So far it's working well for my skin. It's not too drying and it doesnt make my skin sensitive. I've only used it for like a couple of weeks so I don't know if it's working yet but it's not making my skin worst so I will continue using it. I also use neutrogena at-home microdermabrasion also to help exfoliate my skin.

Use alcohol free glycolic acid (8 - 10%) or salicylic acid (2%) lotion or gel for three weeks then do mildl glycolic acid peeling (20-35%) at derm office for 3 times,u should see 50% improvement of the scar..then add Azeleic acid to you regimen and apply to the red mark only..Retin A can improve the scar but it takes time and it too irritating and can worsen redness..if you really want to use retionoid, please ask for differin from your doctor as it mild and cause less redness than retin a.

Differin do help..In my experience, Salicylic acid + Azeleic Acid are the best to treat red mark..But you must apply Azeleic to the marks only as it can cause itchyness if you apply to the whole face..Have heard of glutathione,in Asia it is call whitening pill..If you combine glutathione with Vitamin C and Zinc, it might help to improve your skin texture and tone within 2 - 3 month depend on the body reaction..I do take this antioxidant for about 1 month now,my skin much smoother.

i used retin-a for about 3 months. here's the verdict:
-first week was absolute HELL. skin is peeling/flaky, red, feels like sandpaper... ppl asking why im so red =P couldn't even really use makeup to cover up cuz of the flakiness. i wanted to get off it but it persisted -2 weeks later my skin slowly went back to normal -it did fade my redmarks but i didn't notice a difference until after a month and a half. but it made my skin super sensitive, especially to the sun, and i was always kind of rosy looking. -i hated the feeling of being super-sensitive and avoiding sunlight. also, because it makes ur skin shed/renew itself faster, you become much more oily. i hated that more than having pimples! -i've quit the product. i don't regret using it.. those old marks have faded significantly. but i just keep getting new marks anyways so its an endless cycle and not worth it anymore |

I finished 1 tube of tretionoin prescribed by doctor. Didn't help. I'm on scar remover for 6 weeks and sees improvement especially on my dark brown marks on my cheeks. It contains Vit A and Allantoin.

Retin-a does work to get rid of red marks, just think of it this way the retin-a is speeding up all the processes of your skin. If your acne isnt under control yet then retin-a will cause you to brake out more at the start which will also give you more red marks.
Go and buy Benzac AC 2.5% gel, its good stuff not ordinary benzoyl peroxide "AC", do Dan's regiment with the benzac in the morning but dont use as much as he does, then at night use retin-a, cleanse with a Salicylic Acid facial wash everytime, try Garnier Pure A, it has mineral zinc in in as well as salicylic acid, mineral zinc is necessary for healing and development of new cells, aids enzymes in digestion and metabolism. The benzac and the salicylic facial wash should greatly minimise your breaking out because of retin-a and alow it to work on getting rid of your existing rd marks. P.S most of you people on this web-site are idiots, grow a brain, slap your parents for putting you in a shit school or start a massive rebellion against your government for turning you into these idiots. later.... |

FYI since your such an educated person, minimize, is spelled with a z, not an s. But of course you knew that since everyone else are idiots and you attended a school rich in vocabulary teachings correct? oh and you missed the e in red, you know red not rd.... how about you use a spell check next time you want to post a remark calling everyone idiots....so that it makes your point a bit more valid... don't you think? |

He could be English. We spell those words with s instead of z. Although I agree that his message was really arrogant. If you look at his posts, he hints towards his regimen or his ideas/opinions being the only thing that's right. He may be borderline sociopathic, which would be interesting

It will exacebate the redness--unless you keep your skin very moisturized. Dry skin=unhealing skin. Keep that in mind when you search for the solutions...
You have to have a good moisturizer that doesn't break you out.. |
