Just wondering if anyone has tried this new Bio-Oil thing? It seems interesting but quite expensive - about 12 pounds i think in the chemist.

Hey! Yup, it was me! Well, what happened when I tried it was that it made my skin as soft as a babys, but didn't help with my redmarks/scarring at all. Surprisingly though, it actually didn't break me out. I wouldn't reccommend it though- I think I was just lucky I didn't break out- this stuff is oil after all. If you have any other questions Id be happy to answer them!

I've used it but not for acne. Box actually says it's oil free despite being called bio oil!!!!

Um yeah- that was kinda weird! Did it work for what you used it for?

I'm using it on a scar on my top lip and it has been working to reduce it. I don't think using it on active acne would be a good idea as it's kinda greasy. If you have scars from acne and acne prone skin, I wouldn't recommend it for that though as you could get a break out.

Use it for dry skin and horseriding scars. It is quite greasy though and while it does list blemishes as one of it's uses I'd be wary of it.

It didn't really do anything for me, though I haven't used it for a few months.

Zinc gluconate on the other hand...

my friend used bio-oil for a very bad scar from a dogbite on her face as well as silicon-gel yokies but dont ask me what they are!!he scar is practically invisable now and she swears by the stuff as she plays hockey and is always getting nasty cuts which leave nasty scars. She also uses it on her dry skin, she has skin as soft an clean as a babys arse so shes no fear in breaking out however since ive active spots still on my face and back id be scared to give it a go

hey guys,

had the skincare test in superdrug today and because of all the medication we use on our skin to control acne, it actually turns out as category dry to very dry even though originally my skin is oily as well. she recommended the bio-oil for the red marks as i don't have too many and said you need to use it for atleast 12 months for it to work well.

anyone else still on it? quite tempted to try as it also works for stretch marks apparently?

Well good luck with it! smile.gif I was going to use it for my redmarks but my skin is doing okay these days so don't want to irritate it! Hope it works for you- fingers crossed!

I have tried this because I had a break-out which left a couple of marks. I wish I hadnt, I should have known better because I have oily skin. I thought it would be okay because I used Lotus Oil.

It did work for a bit on the red makrs but I broke out in tonnes of condomes which, two months later turned into a makjor bout of acne because they kept getting inflammed.

Annoying, the red makrs would have gone by now and my skin had stopped breaking out.

I used it all over my face so I would urge caution.

I've tried this on my legs as I had deep scarring from Mozzy bites. It was useless. I have been using Paulas Choice AHA lotion I got for my Bacne and it does seem to be reducing the scarring ! It is also working well on my back !

I used it for a mild acne scar. I found it useless too.

I've used it for a few months now on a scar I had on my leg. It has faded those marks somewhat but very very slowly. The first week I used it I had the type of spots you would normally get on your face around this leg scar - it was disgusting, there were about 10 spots. I've finished the bottle of oil I bought, but wouldn't repurchase. I would NEVER use this on my face.

I'm currently using Bio Oil because Proactiv is leaving my skin rather dry. I use 3 drops over my face and it made the red angry spots calm down and evened out my skin tone. If you are thinking of getting it get the small bottle like I did, then maybe just try it on the pigmented area?
Again, I think mine was okay because my skin was dry, but essential oils don't tend to clog pores.
If you do get it, try it on a small part of your face first.
It's made my skin so soft.

If it does make you break out, use it mixed with your body moisturiser for baby soft skin.

I use bio oil, when I was still in my teens & never really looked at ingredients, like I do now, Now I have to analyze a product for ages!,
it never helped my redness at all, infact it irritated me more with all it's oils, made me break out more as well, I just looked up the ingredents and it contains Isopropyl Myristate, Which ALWAYS irritates my acne prone skin sad.gif

Dans AHA has helped a lot with markings on my face and back, also if your looking for a quick fix, to cover them alittle in the day, Eucern Anti redness relief day fliud, is coloured green and it really does help blend into your skin and even it out, biggrin.gif The day version is the best. <3

good luck! x
