So i used to have a few cysts and nodules pretty bad along the jaw line etc. Then I found out about dexamethasone, which supresses androgens and also act as an anti-inflammatory agent (kind of like cortisonse) Which means... if your acne is very hormonal and if u have big pimples, DEXAMETHASONE will both contain the inflammation and also stabilize your hormones.

IT ACTUALLY WORKED FOR ME!!!!

Now i only get small pimples ocassionaly and even if i feel like a cyst is developing, taking dexamethasone prevents it.

Yes you need a Prescription, and be careful b/c it's a type of steroid.

25yo M, persistent non-scarring cystic/nodular acne since teenager, worsened in past 2 months. started accutane 1 month at 20mg, just bumped to 40mg qd, significant jaw line nodules so i'm starting low dose dexamethasone 0.25mg qd for 1 month on top of the accutane 40mg, topical clindamycin/2.5%BP. i'll let you know how it goes. good to hear it worked for you.

(the accutane made me get tons of nodules as my IB for weeks 2-3 but have since subsided and are just healing scars)
