Meanest thing that someone has said about your acne

I'm 16 and no one at school comments on my acne except one person who's my "friend."
"You need to use this because your face is getting really bad"
"Use proactiv, it worked for her, your face is getting worse"
"wooooow it looks really bad man"
"maybe you should use some makeup"
"dont use lemon, I tried. it wont work for you"
It is so annoying and pisses me off because he doesn't understand my skin! He thinks the whole world revolves around your appearance and honestly no one but him cares!!!! Its so frustrating and soon he's gonna lose a friend!

But I remember people saying things like "do you use the right cleanser?" or "you should see a dermatologist" or "what happened to your face?"
But the looks. Those made me feel the worst.

My dad's girlfriend's sister - "Just please don't confuse our pillows - I wouldn't like to accidentally put my face on your pillow! Yuk." ( she was always openly disgusted by my acne)
This is F'd up right here

Hadn't seen her in months and during these months I had a really bad breakout, it's pretty much cleared up just red spots and a couple pimples now feeling much better about it and getting confident to not wear makeup. Went and see her today walk in the door first thing she says when she looks at me is "YOUR SKIN!"... All I could reply is "this is actually really good considering what it was like 2 months ago!"
Fuxk youuuuuuuu for shattering my confidence again and fuck you coz I never said anything about your skin when u had acne!
God why don't some people have a conscience!

The breakouts doesn't bother me that much, but the worst is when you are on one of your persistent breakouts and run into an old friend or crush you haven't seen in a while lol.

I'm tired of people. Lol. And how shallow people really are when it comes down to it. And the funny thing is we all age and appearance fades anyway. But ACNE is something that is usually not permanent...

You used to look so good... I miss your face... What happened... Whoa... All said by some of my family and friends, they don't even mean it offensively so it hurts even more to hear these things But I always feel somehow they take me less seriously now. Also I can tell that girls who were once jealous of me are now reeeeally happy to see how much "different" I look... That sucks the most since I never gave them a reason to hate me, I just had a beautiful face. On the upside(I guess lol)- It's a vain, vain world and it took a whole lot of acne and scars for me to see past it, and I suppose I am capable of sympathizing with people more now than ever before.
My mom says that to me all the time. When I went to my GP and some place to get a facial, she couldn't stop talking about how I used to be so cute when I was little, but now how I wasn't because I have acne. She also mentions how nasty my face is on a regular basis. My mom is a materialistic person, so I sorta understand how it would upset a person with her personality.
However, I'm her child and for her to make those types of comments really did get to me. I'm not bothered by many things in the world, but those comments stick with me everyday knowing how she really feel about me. Sometimes I wonder if her love is unconditional.

Did you talk to her honestly about how her comments make you feel?

I knew a guy at work who used to get really bad cysts/nodules. REALLY bad. One time he had one that literally took up the entire space between his eyes -- it must have been an inch-plus across -- and I felt so, so bad for him, because I know how it feels.
A couple of weeks later, I got a bad spot in the same damn place! He takes one look at it and freaks out, asking me what was wrong with me and making a big song and a dance about it in front of our colleagues. I was speechless that he would be so insensitive about something that he goes through himself. Then it hit me -- it's understandable, but not condonable, but it seemed to me that he was making himself feel better about his skin problems by getting on my case about mine. Still struck me as really insensitive and tactless, though.

the cashier at Marshalls a fews ago looked at me and said OMG are you treating your face? You should go to a dermatologist in front of everyone. I literally wanted to die a little. It gets worse she picks up the phone and calls her daughter who had suffered from acne previously. She continues to tell her daughter about a girl who has awful acne (me) and wrote down what topicals she was using. I was mortified and went home that night and cried.

Luckily, I have never hardly had anything bad said to me about my acne, really. I guess that I am just really lucky.
The worst thing if I would HAVE to say though, would be last year, when I got a REALLY big zit on my nose. I grew a zit on my nose the morning I had to get up for school, right after the weekend had ended. (They always pop up at the worst times, huh?) and as soon as I had stepped foot into one of the school hallways, one of my friends infront of 3-4 other people had said: "You have a big ass zit on your nose, dude"!
I had thought to myself: "No shit, man. No friggin' shit." I get very embarrassed easily so, I was in a bad mood for the rest of the period. I've also had people, not often but, stare at a bad spot on my face for a few seconds and look away. Even that can make you feel kinda crappy.
I don't grow zits on my nose anymore but, last year, My dad would also make fun of me sometimes and call me: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer at the dinner table or say: "I see you have a visitor". It got pretty annoying. Overall though like I had said, I don't get too many mean comments, lol.

Oh and then also a "friend" posted on facebook, bragging about how she doesn't have acne because she doesn't wear make up and she feels sorry for all the girls who wear make up and give themselves acne and then wear more, because it's actually all their fault. That is so ridiculously insensitive.

It's so weird, I always think that I'm lucky because no one really says anything bad about my skin, but then I remember one incident, then another, and another! I've had a couple of friends sort of passive aggressively point it out. Once, I was just walking with a friend, who has perfect skin btw, talking about something, and all of a sudden she's like "God, don't you hate it when people have those really big nasty zits on their face. I don't know why they don't just pop them. It's so gross to look at." She gave me a weird look, and I was so confused as to why she would bring that up. It seemed so random, so I was just like, "Yeah." A few minutes later, I went back to my dorm room, looked in the mirror, and sure enough a giant whitehead had popped up on my chin. Needless to say, I was mortified. My friendship with her is now on the rocks for other reasons. I should have realized then that she wasn't worth my time.
Also the people who work at mall kiosks need to be trained differently because OY. I went out of the house once in the midst of my worst breakout since middle school (my clarisonic broke, and my skin went CRAZY when I couldn't use it, like big red welts in addition to acne)--and I was shouted at by three different kiosk dudes. Is there anything more embarrassing than a stranger loudly pointing out your acne IN PUBLIC? I think not.
