Wow, I started this topic almost 13 years ago.  In 2005 I completed 6 months of 80mg of accutane.  My acne was reduced by 95 percent.  I went on to become a law enforcement officer and have a lot of different relationships.  I am now outgoing with a large group of friends .   I am 30 years old and am loving life.  Accutane saved me at 18 years old. I urge anyone reading this to get on accutane if your acne is affecting your life.  This drug literally saved me.

Holy crap you really did start this thread, i went to page 1 to see if you were telling the truth. Must be something knowing that you started a thread that has taken a life of its own. Heck even i have replied to this topic... like 20 pages ago lol, it was like two or three years back. I wonder how much of it you've read, also what made you come back to the org? Have you been checking this thread over the years or have you just now found out about it being as big as it is? Congrats on making one of the most if not THE most used thread on this site, theres a lot of history here.

I remembered I used to come on this site when I was desperate to try something new.  The site owner had the regimen which I tried and it didn't work due to the fact that I had severe nodular acne.   There where other threads on accutane and back at the time you could post up pictures of yourself so a lot of people kept accutane logs with updated pictures once a month.  Looking at the great results I decided to try it as I had used minocycline tetracycline and a few other antibiotics that would clear the acne but as soon as I stopped would come right back.  I remembered this thread had a lot of replies at the time I was shocked when i checked it yesterday it was still around with over 2000 posts.  I hope it helped some people.

I was 16 years old life guarding at the pool when these cute girls that liked me came by. They looked at my acne ridden face and asked "what happened to your face" while making faces of disgust and disbelief. I turned red like a tomato, said a few quick words, and quickly made my way to the back room, out of sight.

There has been too many numerous things that were said that I cant narrow it down to one particular thing.  Maybe when my mother said in a roundabout way that I was ugly.  She would sometimes give me patronizing comments in the past that I knew was a lie.  In this particular instance, I really felt that she had sobering look of truth on her face when she said that I was ugly.

This guy understands what I'm going through. I have to purposely let girls that like me see me from a far away distance because when they get up close and see my acne, the attraction wears off

"What happened to your face?!" - rude relative (while trying to remove my hat and take a better look.)
"My skin used to be like yours." - supervisor whose skin is totally flawless
"Try this sample, it helps cure acne." - skin care sales
"You're not wearing makeup today right?" - friend (I was. Just couldn't cover everything up.)

The worst comment was in 6th grade. This kid tells me "I just want to pop all your pimples."  I was mortified because he said it in front of so many of classmates.

The most backhanded compliment I've ever received.....

Girl at school once said to me: "I don't know how you do it, come into school every day with your skin like that, I wouldn't be able to come into school if I had even one tiny spot on my face."

My sister used to tell me how disgusting my acne was. I'm sure she was joking but I was still hurt.

my housemate has much less severe acne but she would literally spend thousands of dollars on cosmetics/creams. one day she asked me about he regimen, and i said well i think it's working for me. it was my fourth week and my face did clear up quite a bit. she stared at my face for a second and pointed to her own cheek and said, hey that one looks really big i think it got worse.

i wanted to punch her in the face but i did not. i was too embarrassed to say anything.

seriously do people not have feelings?

"You look like a drug addict"

"I feel so sorry for you"

"your skin has gotten really bad" (from someone you see once a year and hardly speak to.... is that all you can say to me?). I mean,  do people actually think you want to TALK about this thing that is all over your face? I know it's there!

or the weird random thi g to put on your face that "worked for me!!!"

Just a few weeks ago, I was at my friends high-school graduation party. At one point his sister (who is 18 years old) asks me in the middle of other guests that can she pop one of my pimples? I didn't even know what to say and I had thought people that old would know some manners but no...

Young bro: Your face looks like an asteroid.
Someone I know: You look so uncle. (My eczema skin tone)

Thanks for the feedback, without it I will never know what do I look like, never been so appreciative, I'll remember it.

"If it wasn't for your a**, you wouldn't be pretty..."

*doesn't wear foundation for one day* "Oh honey what's wrong with your face? Where did all that come from?"

"Wow I've never seen your face so bad"

Then it's just annoying when you've been dealing with it for years and people say "You should try........" and list the most basic things. Like thanks I never would've thought of such things.

And to everyone else who commented, I feel y'all. People are harsh but stay strong!

Your face is like a car tire.
Your endocrine system is malfunctioned. What have you done to destroy it? Poor you.
Hey bro, why do you have so many pimples? You should not be here, working for a brand (related to beauty) like this.
You are like a drug addict.
You need to watch your face more often.
You are horrible.
You should eat A, B, C (They don't even know that I eat 1000x times better than they do).

And more...

It is disheartening. But some people are luckier than us. They can stay up late all nights, eat whatever they want, fap as long as they desire... None of these can have negative effects on them. Even a pimple.

Gradually, you will get used to it, learn to ignore it. Sometimes, people don't intend to say such ugly things, maybe they care about you even when their words seems objectionable at first glance.

Stay strong. Keep well.

Wow when I read these comments, I am glad that I live in a country where most people wouldn't judge you for the way you look. People hardly pointed out my acne even though it was (or is) pretty severe.

The most embarrassing thing someone said to me was a little boy in school simpy saying "you got pimples all over your face!" in front of my mates. They found it so funny and picked that one up for months, wouldn't know how it destroyed me.
other than that, when I was in Africa I've been asked if I wouldn't use a mosquito net because of all the "bites".
People just don't know how hard it is.

anyway now my on accutane, just on a working dose though but it works. I still would like to get a higher dosage to avoid a relapse!

That's nice for you to live in such areas, but then again, it won't change the way we look at ourselves psychologically in negative way due to the differences we have against the norm..
But at least, I believe the common things we all have here is to not being mean towards someone regarding their physical look since the negativities we both get or used to get, are accurately relatable as heck.

Good luck to your Accutane process, I didn't resort into dosing Accutane, but I've heard that it caused depression to an extent, hope that you can stay positive as much as possible!

Yeah right, it still killed me man!
But looking back my acne built literally soo much character. You're going out of it so much stronger.
And thanks! It already works so well I hardly break out at all, I mainly deal with the red marks now (also a bit scarring), sometimes they're hardly visible but sometimes they are a lot, but i got so much confidence back. My worst side effect is backpain, it's not too bad but i can't lift in the gym anymore, that's why I want to increase my dosage, so i reach my 120mg/kg more quickly and can start hitting the gym again haha (I don't have a doctor right now because I'm doing a gap year and got 200 pills of 20mg before that in the country).  Edited by Daniel032

Someone I cared about said, "Looks like your mom hit you in the face with a bag of nickles".
And, my father told me at age 14 "Oh man....your face is starting to look deformed".:smileys_n_people_15:
