Would Tears Cause Acne?

Kind of an odd question but ya, would tears cause me to break out?

I wondered that too because my sister who is really clear was crying the other day and she got a few zits right where her tears had been.

I don't know if crying leads to breakouts, but the irritation from wiping the tears might.

Yeah, I highly doubt that tears is a direct cause. Stress from the crying would probably cause the breakout.

ya I noticed something about my acne. It was very bad for 4 years of high school in my senior year I started dating a girl and it got alot better for the two years I was with her. 3 months ago we broke up and I broke out again. crazy how life sucks huh tongue.gif

hehe for me it was the opposite eusa_wall.gif shoulda ended that realtionship sooner, my face would have started to clear up quicker! eusa_dance.gif (i just like this guy, no significance to my post)

Its the stress...crying in general might not be stressful (its a release) but if you are crying because of some stressful event (as opposed to say, a sad movie), THAT will break you out. Trust me, Im healing from a near breakup with my man a couple days back.

Stress increases sebum? That's new!

All this time i was thinking that stress changes hormonal levels, which in turn changes the structure of sebum (to a gacky consistency) and therefore clogs the pore.

tears are just water, salt, and wastes. Yeah that would probably clog your pores, at least wash your face or something while ur eating your french-cries

yeah good think im taking anatomy and physiology right now, ahaha the chapter i have a test on tomorrow is the integumentary system( SKIN!! ) ahahah.

um..isnt that called Integumentary system? Endocrine is about the secretion of hormones in the body tongue.gif

i use to cry every day i was really stress out, because of the break out that i had. reason why is because i never had any pimples that i should worryabout, but this year was the worse year of my life. i started to break out out of the blue and it really made me feel bad, although everybody has been suportive, especially my boyfriend who i believe is the best. his helping me get through with this, always there.. i can't believe he can stand me, we use to go out a lot, have lots of fun but now, well, you all now that with the regimen especially at the start you really want to stay indoors rather than go out.... right?? anywayy when i use to cry i would see that the problem got worse, and stress was surely related . now am a bit more calm, and i sure do keep my self busy, in order to forget about this thing am going through ..which i hate so muchhhhhh . but of course there are somedays that i do feel bad and want to cry, but i put my self together and just try to forget sad.gif But no worries will get through with this!!!1
