Hello people.... i was amazed that this was such an old thread.... but thanks to it!

I recenty undergone with my first TCA cross method with 2 of my deepest scar ( one is from chicken pox and the other as a result of cystic acne that got accidentally scratch peeling of the skin.) and another one with my ice pick scar as a trial to see the result if i want to repair all my ice pick scar because there are too many to mention ( at least 20+)

anyway i am confused whether will i put a moisturizer on it or leave it alone.. my dermatologist told me that i can just wash it with a gentle facial cleanser.... anyway i also tried Iontophoresis too overlap with this treatment monthly with 2 weeks interval to maximize Collagen production... i have no idea what would be the result but i hope for the best.... ill try to update you guys.. and i wish all the best for us....... i am just happy that somewhere and someway we are not alone and being courageous and hopeful and supportring each other is cool! KUDOS!

P.S. - i just spend $5 (USD) per piece of scar (big ones) and $2 on ice pick scar/every session and i could really say that so far this is the cheapest considering a certified Dermatologist is doing the procedure to me...... thank goodness i dont have to pay $700.

hi vynz, could u please tell me the doctor's info for tca cross? i'm having such a hard time finding a doctor. thanks so much!

whera are you from my friend?? i just accidentally found this doctore... looking for someone who will perfrom subcision to me!

It's Jeffrey. He's from NY. Follow the link http://www.jrapaport.com/acnetreatmentgallery.php

lol, those pictures are so much fake. Look at the different angles and light.

I wonder how someone can be serious putting such on his website :D

I wouldn't go to a doctor who needs faked pics to get patients.

Hi Guys!

Thank you so much for all of the wonderful information and inspiration posted on this thread. It's taken me ages to read through it! I had some 25% TCA at home so I thought I might as well start off with this and see how I go. On Wed night (4 days ago) I treated about 25 enlarged pores. I inserted the toothpick and pressed down and for the larger pores pressed around the walls of the pore. I pressed for about 2-5 seconds and probably did each one 4 or 5 times (remember I'm using 25% not 100%).

The next night I did it again to the same pores (I know my skin very well and how it responds to various chemical peels including TCA - I am NOT recommending this! I know this would cause damage for many people). So this second night (3 days ago) I repeated the process.

It's Day 4 and I'm happy with what I'm seeing. The pores are filled in with darkened skin (this to me seems more accurate than saying a scab but for ease I'll now refer to them as scabs). One of the scabs flaked off an hour ago. The pore isn't red and it looks like it has improved but of course it's early days.

I've been applying Infadolon (an occlusive ointment with Vitamin A and D) on my skin a few times a day and have been wearing sunscreen religiously even when I'm indoors (as I have large windows and don't want to risk pigmentation issues as I already have some melasma.

I'm feeling really comfortable with the process so far and I'm looking forward to seeing the results. I'll keep you all posted.

Cheers!

ChicitaGatita :D

Hi pumpkin21!

How is your treatment coming along? Are you satisfied with the results so far?

I have also been using The LEDman light therapy arreys alongside dermarolling for rolling and boxcar scars. However I do want to adress some ice pick ones as well in a few months when I am done dermarolling. I am researching TCA cross right now and it seems to be a very very promissing treatment. Unfortunately I stumble upon the same problem again as with subcision -finding an experienced europe-based specialist, who could safely and efficiently perform the procedure.

I am from Germany, but the UK would be my best bet! I will try to make an appointment with Dr. Chu, but only God knows when this will be possible, if ever. So I wanted to ask you where in the UK did you have your TCA Cross treatment done? Would you recommend your dermatologist??

Hi Marumi

The treatment is going well thanks. There is improvement there but it is not drastic and is gradual over time. I am due in next week again actually.

I need to get back with the light therapy as have been lazy in recent times doing this!

I get my treatment done from Dr Chu and is the only derm i would feel comfortable recommeding. I take it being from Germany, you will be going private with him so you may be able to get an appointment sooner rather than later.

He will do dermaroll and TCA cross in same session which is good.

Hope this helps

It sure does, thank you very much!! :)

So it is Dr. Chu. I am thinking of directly calling his office and booking an appointment as I had no success trying via Email.

I am glad your treatment is going well. Correcting scars does take time. I had to put up with that thought myself. But the overall result in the end is what's really important to me. I have been using the lights for 3 weeks now and I can't say I see a great difference, but I hope in six months time or maybe in a year I will. From the rolling too. I did heal faster though after the third rolling session with the lights and Terproline.

Dermarolling and TCA cross in one session sounds really challenging but I think in the experienced hands of Dr. Chu you should have some good results. Wish you good luck and that all goes well with the recovery!

I will update when i speak to Dr Chu next week if he now recommends anything else to do as a treatment.

I am thinking of introducing Dermastamp in between dermarolling sessions with Dr Chu

Its been about 3 weeks since the scabs fell off. The scars still looks enlarge although some scars show slight improvements.

I think i went pretty aggressive, I firmly pressed the toothpick (smaller than the average toothpick that was included in the 100% TCA kit from perfectcomplexion) for about 3 seconds. I tried to put the acid on the scars but it was difficult without it touching the walls, the toothpick somewhat covered the entire scar pit. After 3 weeks some ice pick scars were definitely deeper and wider, the small scar pores look like icepick scars and im wondering if i did damage. I think it kinda boils down to the technique or probably I need more time.

I understand that people said that the treatment need more time until the collagen kicks in but some people see results after a week or two, others right away. Should i be panicking right now?

No wait at least another 3 if not 5 weeks then assess your scars. It takes different times for different people

Hi,

Did you successfully use a TCA cross on enlarged pores?

I am considering trying this on my nose and was hoping for some advice. I'm a little scared.

Is there anything you did that helped it work? A special moisturizer or supplement during the healing process? Hyaluronic Acid? Epidermal growth factor? Copper peptides? amino plex?

I ordered 100% tca.

You simply use a toothpick and press hard and deep into the pore? Do you get it on the inner walls of the pore? Fill it with lot of acid and leave in, or wash off immediately? Any tips on best technique would be so appreciated.

They scab and then are closed up? That would really be a dream come true for me. I am such a mess, obsessing over them day and night, hiding, avoiding social situations. Gah, its rough.

Any tips you can give for me doing this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Naw. Nobody has replied to any of my 10 or so emails... I feel like it must just be an awkward topic or something -- or maybe I worded it too...wordily? :)

I guess I'll just dive in and hope for the best!

(and by "the best" I mean minimal facial disfiguration!)

hey I tried tca cross 100% on one of my pores on my nose. TBH I dont really see any improvement, maybe even sliiiightly worse (wider). So I would advice you to be very careful and try it on one or two pores first and wait for at least a couple of weeks to see how it looks then. I've read stories of people that are positive about this procedure for enlarged pores but I'm very sceptical.

Note that when I did it I was very, maybe even too careful, so it might not have had its full effect. What I did is I broke a cocktail stick (that I desinfected by soaking it in alchohol first and then poured water on it so all of the alcohol was gone (probably would've evaporated but just to be sure there was no reaction between alchohol & TCA)). I broke it so that the tip would be veery thin so I could apply the TCA only in the pore and not outside. After dipping it in the TCA for about 15 sec I applied it by holding it for about 5 sec in the pore, I didn't move the stick while I was in the pore I just pressed it. after that I used the neutralizer that I got with the set but I dont know if that did anything, I suspect it to be redundant. That's how I did it and for aftercare I used neosporin to keep it moisturized.

After a few days it would scab inside the pore but since my skin is so damn oily it probably pushed the scab out early, the scab was only there for 4 days or so while I read it should be there for at least 1.5 weeks.

that's all folks. Hope you have more success than I had but it's worth a try. Just be very very careful and don't hurry things!

good luck

Does anybody know if Yavonae skincare (www.tcapeels.com) is a trustworthy seller for tca? Majority of the people seem to be purchasing it from perfectcomplexion.net or makeupartistschoice.com, but I'd rather get a set of 100, 50, and 25% rather than a single 100% kit.

Thanks in advance!

don't forget about: im-fabulous(dot)com/Scar-Remover--TCA-Cross-Method

Also, I doubt any of them are 100; they seem to be buffered.

On that same note, why not just dilute it yourself as per application.

Only accessible source of 100% TCA I know of is in bulk/powder form from places like Alibaba or the likes. (Maybe I should get in on this research chemical game)

Hi guys, I recently purchased a whole set of TCA items from perfectcomplexion.net. If anyone of you are interested in purchasing them off from me (since I can't get a refund) - do drop me a pm :)

1. APEEL DAILY

2. TCA COMPLEX

3. BETA LATTE

4. ACNE TONER

All of them have not been used. Thanks!

As long as the solution is strong enough to frost, I don't think one needs an exact 100% mix, or do they? From what I've read, seems like a solution 85% and up (more towards 90%+) would be sufficient enough to promote enough damage for collagen regeneration. Then, those kits wouldn't be so bad after all..?

guys don't use 100% TCA it is crazy !!! i used 50 % and works great ! the best will be to start from 25 % and see how it goes and then up to maybe 60% this is the best range .

DAMMIT!

I was so careful applying the 100% TCA. (I had read about someone spilling some on their hand, and how it ate away at the skin!)

I wore latex gloves and poured just the slightest amount into a separate cap. I then removed the gloves, so I could be extra careful with application.

The first spot I tried with the toothpick, left toothpick in for 15 seconds, stretching the skin of the nose with the other hand...

As I removed the toothpick to look at the spot, I saw A QUARTER OF MY NOSE WAS FROSTING OVER! Jesus!

I freaked out, thinking that CAN'T be TCA frosting... and immediately tried to rub the frost off with rubbing alcohol. But it doesn't rub off...because IT IS NECROSIS OF THE SKIN!

God dammit! Some of it must have gotten on the palm of my hand when removing the latex gloves?? I have no idea, I was so careful!

Immediately applied neutralizer liberally, but it started stinging pretty bad. Skin looks normal now (3 hours later.)

Is my nose going to fall off?? Has anybody made a mistake like this??

...I'm considering going into the emergency room. To see if there is anything they can apply that can stop it from eating away the skin right now.

Is it normal that 1 - 2 days after the treatment the scars still look depressed and only a light brownish crust-like layer has formed?

It´s unrealistic to expect the scars to have gone completly right after the treatment, isn´t it?

Are copper petides to be used when there is still a scab on the treated areas or should one wait until the scab has fallen off completely?

PS: I´m asking this as my scab is still one two of the crossed scars 3 weeks later!!! Can I start using peptides??

Please folks reply ! I´m awaiting your replies urgently. I need to know !!

Looking forward!!
