Does alcohol causes acnes ??

if you get the flavored vadka's, you can just mix them with sprite.  rum and cokes are good.  I think that gin may be an aquired taste, when it says dry it means it.

Rum is pretty good to just shoot, But I prefer whiskey.  I never break out after drinking whiskey, and if you dont like to take shots you can make washington red apples.  You take one shot of Jack, one shot green apple pucker, and one shot of cranberry juice.  There a bit strong, but tasty!

I was just browsing over some fitness site when I read this:

"Skip happy hour. Alcohol consumption can temporarily blunt testosterone levels, hindering muscle repair and growth and blunting sexual drive. Also, the calories from alcoholic beverages — in the neighborhood of 100—200 each without cocktail mixers — add up faster than you may think."

Reducing the testosterone levels perhaps what causing some of you to be a little clearer in the morning. I've certainly found my skin is a lot drier in the morning after drinking, but the other affects of alcohol seem to result in neutral-to-negative outcome.

I did all my drinking between the ages of 15 and 21, and it wasn't a whole lot. I can probably count the number of times I was certifiably intoxicated on two hands. During the times I did drink, I seem to remember having some issues with my skin. I'm 23 now and I completely abstain from alcohol consumption. I've cleared up considerably, but there are far too many variables to blame acne lesions on alcohol. You'd have to control for it and that would take some work. In fact, it'd be close to if not impossible.

While I don't believe in the holistic approach to solving acne problems, I do agree that different people react differently to environmental factors based on their genetic makeup and overall health. I suppose alcohol could have something to do with it depending on the individual.

Alcohol lowers blood glucose ie reduce hyperglycemia which can be a cause of acne via insulin resistance. So some people see a benefit from drinking.

The reason why some other people equate drinking with acne is because of the excess carbohydrates in beer, wine or non-diet mixers. Also people will have snacks such as chips, dips, nuts and kebabs while drinking.

Sticking to vodka or whiskey with diet mixers or water does not cause a problem for me.

I stay hydrated by drinking water between drinks.

Three meals only a day, no snacking, no alcohol (since 3 years ago), no red meat, no refined sugars (I count honey and fruit juices are refined), no added oils or fats. 2000 Calories a day. Tend to eat all kinds of fish (oily as well) and birds like chicken or turkey, no lamb or pork or beef. Shave every day with single blade razor in morning shower (skin wet for 5 minutes) using shave gel from an aerosol can, wash face with cleanser once after then rinse. Rest of day, just use water only (when needed, at gym for instance). 99% clear. Skin condition very good, can wear clothes without ruining them, used to ruin them when I used to use BP.

A couple of beers usually makes my skin worse. However, the few times I've woken up without any new pimples was after heavy drinking.
