im heading over to whole foods rite now to pick up 100% unrefined shea butter! on almost every site that describes shea butter, it says it gets rid of hyperpigmentation! has ANYONE tried it or had success??? i heard it doesnt cause breakouts so at least it wont make anything worse!

well i remember the first time i had a breakout that left me red marks, i used to use a moisturizer with shea butter to keep my skin from getting fry....in about 3 months my spots faded completely...i never though about shea butter actually having something to do with that though...um...

Hmmmm I have shea butter but never thought to use it on my face. I use it for my feet and hands. I use Cetaphil moisturizer for my face. Should I switch? It seems like it would be too greasy for my face.

shea butter is waaay too greasy and thick. I think you should use ONLY if your acne is gone and under control. And even then, be careful.

I think shea butter will be way too greasy for the face. If you want to try it I would suggest 3 times a week at night-TOPS just to start with. Shea butter is so moisturizing that it can last for more than 24 hours so be sure not to over do it. I had a pure tub of shea butter last summer and i used it all over my body, I wouldn't need to moisturize for 2 days after using it.
