Isolagen (N-Lite and Subcision) - UK treatments

345 posts in this topic

The total cost of treatment including consultation , biopsy and course of two 2ml injections is £2,900.

The option i took with Dr.Chu was for 2 x 3mls to achieve optimum results which cost £3,500. For this price (as well as the £2,900) with Dr.Chu he includes the consultation fee, subsision and tca cross, an n-lite session at the end, and a follow up appointment.

Its expensive, but with Dr.Chu ur in a specialists hands plus he provides all these extra treatments at no further cost.

Pretty incredable guy, both helpful and empathetic. (he told me he suffered acne badly as a teen so understands the effect it has psychologically)

Hi Zombie,

Thank you for your update. I am glad the results are staying. I cannot wait unil they approve this here. If I traveled I would have to take a plane twice one or 2 months apart for the second set of injections plus going there for the biopsy. His package sounds so good.

Does anyone know how much 3500 is in dollars?

Hi ZOmbiE,

Can you tell me how to get in touch with Dr Chu? Do I call his secretary direct at Hammersmith or do I need a referal letter from my GP before he'll see me?

I've read this thread and i'm getting quite exicted at the prospect of seeing him! Does he have a long waiting list?

I'm glad your treatment is working out ok. How long did you have to take off work? I know that you only posted a few days ago, but anymore updates yet?

$6,430.33 :|

i use http://www.xe.com/ucc/ when converting currencies.

Thank you for that link. Too bad that would be too much for me with all the flights I would have to take. I will have to wait and hope they approve it here soon. I dont understand why they wont approve it when they approve other fillers which have complications such as lumps. I have not heard of any negative side effects with isologen. It seems that the worse that can happen is being dissapointed with very subtle results after spending all that money. Zombie, I will pray that this works out well for you. You are very generous.

Thank you for your kind words jasmin.

I truly hope the fda approve isolagen in the us and other parts of the world also. Its already shockingly expensive to do as is, so understand how frustrating it must be that when you live in a country that doesnt provide it. I also hope that with more approval and more ppl going for isolagen that it will bring the cost down, although I worry that popularity will equal them wanting to make a nice fat profit :/ Lets hope not.

I will keep my fingers crossed that it will be approved soon there.

coca cola, i dont have dr.chus details on me at hand, but his secretary as well as his details can be found on page 6 and page 8 of this thread.

Update wise, a few days ago I got a sun rash so that really got me down for a bit. 1% hyrocortison cream sorted it out tho. Yesterday I had subcision and I posted an update on my site. Im sitting here with the most HUMONGOUS hampster cheeks! Its painful, but only when i press on my cheeks or smile. Np when eating or anything and i slept well. Just have to wait for the swelling to go down to see if any results.

Will keep u posted.

my gp is a prick. he would not refer me to dr chu as he said that they could not do anything to treat scars. he said that i hardly had any scars. i think that i do and think the dr was jus being tight with the treatment. i guess its game over for me as i cant afford proper treatment

why don't you go to a different doctor (gp?) for the referral?

yellowboy..dont resign yourself from this because of a doc who wont refer u!

like butterflies suggested, go to a different doctor or go back to your gp and express how important this is to you. If you dont take active control over what you want then no gp will go out their way to help if they dont think your too bothered either way.

gl :)

Hi Max

I'm pretty busy and sometimes don't access the board till weekends, so sorry for the late reply. I hope to have my first injection in mid-June. However, there is somebody on the Voy board who is still waiting for her injection after 12 weeks (I think sometimes the cells take longer to multiply). There are a few people on the Voy board who are having the treatment and there is a guy from the states who might fly over for it. I hope it works - it sounds great but so far, I haven't met anybody who has tried it. I'll keep you all posted.

Hi Lola

Soory to be the bearer of bad news but I had the isolagen treatment for wrinkles etc. Had the biopsy from behind the ear and theen the injections 6 wks later followed by the next lot of injections 6 weeks after that. It has now been 9 mths and it hasn't worked! While waiting for my 1st consultation to see if I was suitable I spoke to a girl in the waiting room who was having the same treatment but for acne scars and it hadn't worked for her I should have heeded the warning. Was told on first consultation that the failure rate was less than 5% but have since been imformed it could be 15-20% Good Luck.

Ps Have tried for a refund but as of yet no joy

Did you go to DR. Chu also and did you have subcision done. It do not understand how it could not work. It sounds like a very logical way to fix collagen deficiency defects. What explanation did your doctor offer regarding the failed treatments? I read on the isolagen website that the procedure is very dependent on the skill of the injector. It has to be injected right above the dermis.

Hi. Sorry I haven’t been on with an update in a while but I’ve been busy studying etc. Anyway I think I have a real update this time. I had been getting a few spots recently, don’t know if to do with treatment but don’t think so – think it was me just not keeping my skin hydrated all the time. However they do seem to be clearing up but my point is it blinded me to the ongoing improvement of my skin.

Anyway, I remembered when I went to see the dermatologist who did my injections for the first time he said I’d got deep damage in my skin – though not the deepest he’d seen. He felt my cheek with his finger to show where I’d be able to feel it and I did the same and could feel it too, lumps and bumps of skin damage which I’d avoided acknowledging for years.

Anyway a lot of that has gone now – three months after the first set of injections. I did some feeling of my face and the deep damage is a lot less and it is much smoother, so I am feeling really happy about it now. I still can see scars on the surface, even though they have improved, but knowing that this deep damage is recovering (and therefore increasing the likelihood that in the future my scars won’t get too bad as I age) makes me feel happier about the money I’ve spent – even if the surface appearance doesn’t improve any more :D

great news saturny.

im so happy for you. =)

Thanks.

I am hoping that there will be some more improvement in the surface appearance (just caught sight of myself in bad lighting) but if it doesn't then I'll be happy with the underlying improvement in skin texture etc.

The scars have improved but in certain lighting they can still look pretty bad - well to me anyway, I suppose I don't want anyone to think Isolagen is a miracle and will clear up their scars completely because what I have said.

Nothing will ever clear scars up completly.

and even after the $6430 u still gotta go in for touch ups because I hear that as y age, u lose the 30 percent improvement from 7 thou in scar treatments b/c u lose collagen. U gotta be RICH to treat scarring, filthy f**king rich! It's constant maintenance, one time doesn't take care of it 4 life.

I agree. I know that they'd get worse so by treating them now that should help. I'm not filthy rich but should be able to have refresher isolagen in future - means paying Isolagen to look after my cells though :(

Last update: skin improvement under the surface good but not good enough and when it comes to appearance there is not much improvement.

I did get a letter from Isolagen saying that they were moving from the UK because of lack of people having the treatment so I can't have any more injections done anyway.
