Does anyone of you think 2.5 weeks should be enough to see a small percentage of improvement?

I wish I could afford a blood test to see if I have a food intolerance, but that's $200. But I will get a regular blood test to see if I have any deficiencies, that's about $80. My insurance doesn't cover any lab work.

My last hopes where in a wheat free diet (I don't even consume any dairy for the most part) but I guess I will never have this problem solved.

I am not trying to be mean or offend anybody, fat ppl have perfect skin, they don't break out. Even if you stop eating complely and just drink water for a month doesn't mean you are cured since u are not eating anything. You are still going to break out, just get it on your mind that eating healthy helps you look healthier, eating what everyone eats is not going to make you break out.

JUST EAT CONSCIENCELY NEVER STRESS YOUR SELF OUT BECAUSE OF WHAT YOU EAT.

Imagine Foods has Soy Dream and Rice Dream...there are sugars, but they're cane juice and unsweetened cocoa, etc...the only one that has gluten in it is Chocolate Fudge Brownie as far as I know.

My regimen:

Eat regularly: a wide variety of vegetables, eggs, meat/fish, cheese, yogurt, butter, fruit, nuts/seeds.

Occasionally eat: beans, squash, potatoes.

Don't eat: sugar, grains, most processed food.

I am new to this board but felt compelled to give my input on this matter.  I have given up all wheat, dairy and refined sugar products approximately 5-6 weeks ago.  I have noticed a MAJOR improvement with regard to my cystic acne.  Since I've eliminated these products I've been cyst free.  However, I do still develop smaller pimples, that are healing within 2-3 days.  How long has it taken others with this approach to completely clear?

I've suffered from acne for almost 20 years now, so after trying everything else under the sun with no success - this is wonderful!  It takes constant dedication, but if it's it what I must to do to remain acne free - I'll do it!!  Plus the increased mental clarity and energy levels are awesome! biggrin.gif

hey sweetjade, i actually cut out wheat too the last few weeks. Plus i added a lot of natural foods to my diet.  I'll just say that im pretty much 100% clear and yea i do believe its because i cut out wheat, but i did also cut out dairy.  In the near future if im as clear as i am now and my skin continues to look better ill post my diet routine.  Later sweetjade, im a fan of yours by the way  eusa_angel.gif

These are not steps, but stages some people progress through when going from conventional to holistic medicine. Stage 2 is how I became 99%+ Clear, eliminated my dysmennorhea, significantly reduced my sebum & pore size, etc & is my predominant method.

Stage 1 (Treatment):

* (Daily) Isocare Skin Control Cleanser, Dream Products Customized Natural Face Lotion & Coppertone Sport Spray Sunscreen (mixed)

* (Sporadically) spot treat w/ anti-inflammatory (neosporin, hydrocortisone, salicylic acid) or a skin lightener (post-inflammatory pigmentation) to treat stubborn cystic/nodular acne that appears due to unknowingly or knowingly ingesting a food/ingredient that breaks me out (I do my best to avoid these foods). If you cover treated area w/ a bandaid, it makes product more effective.

Stage 2 (Prevention): "cheapest" method ~ Since Aug. 2002

* Follow a Gluten-Free, Trans-Fat Free, Dairy-Free and No Added Sugar diet for my Insulin Resistance/Hyperandrogenism (Silent Chronic Inflammatory Syndrome)

* Avoid ALL types of nuts and the Genus Prunus (almonds, plums, peaches, nectarines, apricots, cherries), Bananas, Pineapples, Cottonseed oil, Artificial Sweetners.

Stage 3 (Correction):

* Strengthen/Repair GI - Immune health

Research:

* Developing functional foods for those with acne & other special needs (assuming there's a defficiency).

* Developing good & "safe" formulas for various hormonal issues for women. Correction stage may resolve this for some.

Could you please tell me if you still ate fruit, nuts and proteins?  I mean is the only change the wheat, dairy and refined sugar?  Thanks, and you should feel empowered that you did this for yourself. eusa_dance.gif

I have stopped eating rice, pasta, and white bread for a while now, and I have seen a complete change in my skin. I used to have cystic acne, and now I hardly break out. I also cut off some sweets that I used to eat all the time, and even though I still have chocolate every once in a while, It doesn't hurt me. I even eat two pieces of wheat bread a day, and I'm still good. Just have to eat in moderation. I really believe that acne has a lot to do with diet because of how it helped me lately. Rock on everyone who is trying this smile.gif
