I'm 19 years old and still dealing with acne since the age of 14. Right now, I've started to use washcloths on my face with only a bar of soap every morning. Smooth washcloths with bamboo and microfiber soft towels, using this kind of soap http://www.amazon.co...0?ie=UTF8&psc=1 since October last year. This is what my acne looks like.

I've been on medication for acne like Doxycycline, Minocycline, anErythromycin. I'm wondering if there's anything else I can use, besides these medications that I've used before. I've been looking at this product for awhile http://www.amazon.co...=A3FA1EX1259TCZ and i don't know if I should start using chemical peels like this because I've never used one before.

Glycolic Acid is amaaaaaaazing for me but salicylic acid in high concentrations is far too irritating on my skin.

I would say that chemical exfoliants make a huge difference but don't jump straight in at a high concentration.

You should consider changing your cleanser though. Bar soap will generally only make acne worse.

You need something which is going to keep the PH of your skin down and bar formulas will nearly always alkaline the surface of the skin, allowing acne bacteria to grow. Balm cleanser is best, if not then you could try sulphate free cleansing gels :)

Morning Routine:

- Avene Soapless Gel Cleanser

- Boots Time Delay AHA Toner

- Boots Botanics Rosewater Toning Spritz

- Hyaluronic Acid Serum (homemade)

- Hazelnut oil with rosemary + clary sage (on acne prone areas)

- Alpha Hydrox Enhanced Cream (10% Glycolic Acid)

- SK:N Sunscreen SPF 30

- W7 Camera Ready Primer

Evening Routine:

- Lush Ultrabland + Washcloth

- Soap & Glory ULTIMELT Hot Cloth Cleanser + Washcloth

- Boots Time Delay AHA Toner

- Differin 0.1% cream

- Hazelnut oil with rosemary + clary sage (stops oil production)

- Vitamin C Serum (also homemade) OR

- Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum

Once/Twice a week:

- Green Clay Mask (+ salicylic acid)

- Exfoliate with No7 skin cleansing brush

I didn't know bar soap would cause something like that.

Well in that case, I might as well use vinegar apple cider to balance it out. I always thought a bar of soap like dove soap, would help with acne.

EDIT: What makes a balm cleanser any different from a regular cleanser?

Any suggestions for a moisturizer or sunscreen?

In my experience, Glycolic Acid leaves a nice freshness and keeps skin clear, but I'm not sure it's as effective as Salicylic Acid at actually clearing acne. It's a little more mild.

But overall, I like GA.

The sunscreen in my signature is the only one I've ever found which is 100% non comedogenic and not greasy or heavy at all.

Balm cleansers don't upset the PH of the skin and are much more gentle. Also they are usually oil based which is beneficial as like attracts like so the balm mixes with the oil in your pores and dissolves it (preventing clogged pores and acne). They also do not strip the skin, even though they thoroughly cleanse.

Try getting a prescription for Bactrim. It works. I would also stay away from using any bar soap that contains animal fat or heavy oils like, tallow, olive oil, coconut oil. They clog the pores.Glycerin bar soap is okay.
