Day One:

Hi everyone! This is my first post and coincidentally my first day on accutane.  I thought it would be nice to track my journey to clear skin.  I have struggled with acne for around six years now and it's never been horribly cystic, but it does come and go.  I may be posting pictures I am unsure at the moment.

One day down about 180 to go.  I've got a nice stock pile of aquaphor for my lips and eucerin for my face.  I am hoping I will be able to continue wearing my liquid foundation and cream concealer because I would really rather not attend school without makeup when my face is like this.  Hopefully it'll clear up soon, I'd like to hear your guys's stories too!

I just looked at your pictures and your skin looks phenomenal, congratulations!

Here are some low quality pictures that are way too big and feature a number of derpy faces.  This is my skin six days into the medication.  My lips have started to become chapped and their is some skin that is beginning to flake a little.  Other than that I haven't experienced any side effects.  I'm on 40 mg once a day, by the way.

I am on day 14, and starting to experience some mild joint pain.  I have a difficult time standing up after bending over and things like that, is this anything i should worry about?

Joint pain is quite a common side effect. I experienced it in my back and when I asked the derm about she said it is nothing to worry about, just take pain killers if you have to. Personally, I'd keep an eye on it and definitely seek medical advice if it is severe.
