Hey guys!

Just wondering if anyone else out there has had similar experiences to mine while using Paula’s Choice BHA Products? I’ve been using the Clear Extra Strength 2% BHA liquid for over a month and a half- and all I can say is it absolutely doesn’t do anything for the closed comedones/blackheads I’ve had for a while- and to make matters worse, gives me those red pimples that don’t usually pop. I don’t have inflamed acne at all- I just use bha to help with the blackheads/clogged pores and prevent any blemishes. I used Neostrata’s level 2 toner- with 10% aha and 2% bha for 2 years and loved it- I only switched because it contains alcohol and apparently that’s awful. Although I’m starting to see that maybe alcohol does help the BHA penetrate- because the Paula’s choice hasn’t been doing anything for my skin at all. Anyone else have this experience? Please share!!

2% is not enough for me. 10% was a little better, but still very slow results.

I use 20% at-home salicylic acid peels, and the results are not AMAZING, but I actually feel like it is doing something now.

yeah I also use it, and I have to admit it does not do a thing to keep blemishes at bay, I have red inflamed pimples and it dident do anything to help them heal or even to reduce redness!
it's okay for evening out the skin tone but I wouldent rely solely on salicylic acid for acne.

My sons used it in the past, prior to going on the regimen. It did absolutely nothing for them, they still got blemishes and blackheads. After several weeks of no improvement, they gave up. BP has worked much better.

Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant rapidly exfoliates both the skin's surface and inside the pore, reshaping the pore lining, unclogging pores and improving skin cell turnover rate. The result is a dramatic improvement in the skin's appearance, feel, and function which leads to healthier skin.

I started using PC 2% BHA liquid 5 weeks ago and am still getting new pimples.  How long did you all use it?  My skin has remained the same over the last 5 weeks of consistent use.  I really want it to work.  @jean alfred do you use it and get good results?  Should I give up and go back to differin?

Consumer acne products are inferior, and this could have a lot to do with regulations, restrictions as well as ingredients included for better shelf life.  The 2% SA that Paula's Choice sells is not strong enough to help.  I use Lumiplexion SA which comes in three strengths.  SA doesn't work overnight.  You do have to be a bit patient, but you will notice a difference with the Lumiplexion strengths.

I also recommend black soap for blackheads.  I recommend the organic kind you can buy off Amazon.  We take the bar, cut about an inch thick portion off, grate it with a cheese grater, put it in a pump bottle and mix 50/50 with water.  It's messy and melts if you use it as a bar in the shower.

I recommend visiting Lumiplexion's website.  Then email her  - Pamela@LumiPlexionSkincare.com  Tell her what issues you're having with your skin and tell her what you're currently using.   I recommend including a picture or two of your skin.  She will give you recommendations.

No regimen is one-size-fits-all. You are unique and so is your skin.

AM

Proactive Deep Cleansing Wash - Lumiplexion Salicylic Acid ~ Lumiplexion  SPF 30 ~ Lumiplexion moisturizer

PM

Proactive Deep Cleansing Wash  ~ Lumiplexion Glycolic Acid 12% (3-4x week) ~ Lumiplexion Hydroquinone 1-2x week

Lumiplexion enzyme mask / sulfur mask /  moisturizing mask 1-2 week as needed
