Love that you're clear, and staying that way.  Your derm sounds AWESOME.

I also like your book club "Meter". So nice to hear that you are confident in your skin now! I am looking forward to that happening for me.

Your progress has really been inspiring for me.. I really need something to look forward to, and I'm glad you've had such success. I'm on Day 65, and I'm really hoping that my skin will be clear in a few months.

You. Me. Five second happy dance party.

You may not see it, but if you could, you would see me doing the Snoopy happy dance on your behalf. You should do one too!

Congrats! I am so happy for you, and I am so ready to get to that point! I'm at day 107, and it's amazing to wake up in the morning and look at myself in the mirror without IMMEDIATELY thinking about how I am going to cover my face with gobs of concealer.

Month six

Here is a song I wrote:

"Clear, clear, clear. Clear clear clear. Clear, clear . .  clear, clear, CLEAR!"

It goes to the tune of Jingle Bells.

Thanks ladies! Couldn't have done it without you! Seriously.

I'm well into my sixth month now. Still planning to do a seventh.

My skin is great. Great for my skin, anyway. I have been able to reduce the amount of makeup that I wear, which is nice. I like makeup, and I would probably wear foundation even if I had never had acne. But I didn't like the feeling of wearing so much when my acne was at its worst. Instead of primer and full foundation, I am just mixing a little bit of foundation into the primer and done. Feels good to feel like I am just evening things out a bit instead of trying to create a mask.

Had a great day out for coffee with friends, didn't even think about my skin.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

One thing I noticed is that inspecting my scarring potential causes me to notice my aging more.

Thanks, life.

Aww.  I noticed that too.  I feel like I suddenly began to age... when probably I had been all along. It was not a good feeling, at all.

Argh - me too. Maybe having a face like a pubescent teenager (no offense meant to ANY pubescent teenagers reading this log) had it's perks.

It was my birthday yesterday! Unfortunately, I became another year older. THIRTY SIX!! What the hell happened there? Sheesh. Accutane makes me have little forehead wrinkles I didn't have before. I hope they go away when my skin gets a little less dry. COME BACK IN FOUR YEARS WHEN I'M READY FOR YOU!

Also - after just 15 short years of being together and one five year old son, I finally got a proposal! So I guess I get to plan a wedding or some sort, which is pretty exciting.

Skin update!! Still super clear. I have about a month to go. I still have more redness than I would like, but rumour has it this should subside after the course is over.

Hopeful that I'll get some long term results and be able to continue living my normal life. Also being realistic that this is always a struggle for me, but I know I have options and solutions available.

Summary of course so far for anyone reading this just getting started:

First week: Why are all these weird things happening?

Second week: Feeling normal, chapped lips have begun.

Third week: Here comes the IB

Rest of month 1, 2 and 3: And keeps coming . . .

Month 4: A few random final battles

Month 5 & 6: Calm / Joy

Month 7: TBA

After course: ?????!!!!!!

Hope everyone is doing well, esp. my ladies persnickity and megtree.

The last few days have arrived. My 7 month course somehow took about 8. This is because I missed a week once, and a few days another time, due to rescheduled appointments or having to order in my prescription. I also admit to some laziness in the past month or so, skipping a day here or there.

My grade total dose will be somewhere around 132 mg/kg, which I think is a darn good attempt.

I'll be glad when the chapped lips go, which I learned happens within about a week when I took that week off.

It's pretty scary out there in 'no magical pill that keeps your skin clear' land. Hoping for the best, and preparing for the worst.

I'll keep y'all updated.

Done! Off for about three days now.

My lips are still a bit chapped. This in between phase is almost more annoying than when they used to peel off every day.
