Clindamycin Phosphate Topical 1% - How Long Does It Take?

2 posts in this topic

Hi! I'm a 22 y/o female who just recently developed pretty moderate inflammatory acne (when I previously hadn't had issues with acne since high school).

Three weeks ago, my doctor put me on clindamycin phosphate 1% topical, which I am currently using with BP 2.5% and Neutrogena oil-free SA face wash. I can tell a difference since I started - but not a HUGE one. My old pimples are definitely softer but haven't completely gone away, and I'm still occasionally getting new ones, but they are not as big or as red as before.

I do have a terrible habit of touching my face, which I'm working to break. But otherwise, I wanted to know if this slow healing process is typical of clindamycin. Does anyone else use a similar regimen? If so, how long did it take to clear your skin - or did it?

Thanks!

I was put on clindamycin phosphate with a smidge of tretinoin. For the first 2 months my acne cleared up great! Everyone commented on how much better my skin looked almost overnight. However, after the first 2 months, my skin has reverted back to how it was previously even with daily application. I dont understand what happened cry.gif
