I have been struggling all summer with a cvst on the side of my nose/cheek. I have gotten multiple cortisone shots which only helped temporarily. Now, there is a small head on the cyst, however I am terrified of making it bigger by trying to squeeze.

Do you think it will eventually heal on its own?

Also, I am going down the shore tomorrow, so do you think the salt water in the ocean will help it possibly dry out, that way i won't need to pop it?

I usually will attempt to pop anyhting with a head, but this one has caused me so much trouble in where I do not want to risk anything that would inflame it because right now its still a bump, but not that noticeable as it used to be.

I find if I don't pop a big cyst then it doesn't go away or comes back, however popping them normally causes some sort of scarring for me. I think I would still get scarring even if I didn't pop but maybe not as bad.

The best method for me has been taking a cotton swab and pouring some witch hazel on it, applying it on the cyst... and ONLY, I repeat ONLY if the cyst is still sore and tender to touch, gently press against the sides of it with the witch-hazel drenched cotton swab... it usually gets all the gunk out. I don't know why, but it's worked for me.
