Hey,

Iam new to this,

Iam trying to find a treatment to get rid of my dented acne scars (rolling scars i think they are called) which i have had for years now due to my acne( which is now cleared up). i have heard of a derma roller but iam not sure what one to get or where to buy this, i cannot afford for a dermatologist do to this for me, which is why iam looking for an a cheaper at home treatment if any one has gotten rid of dented acne scars or knows a good derma roller or any other at home treatments which helps dented acne scars would be great, thanks x

You sound like a perfect candidate for dermarolling. Just make sure you do your research before starting at home in order to know what to do and expect etc. There are some great forums related on here that could help. I think 0.5mm dermaroller is recommended length for mild to moderate scaring, and you can order on ebay and amazon, just make sure it is a reputable source. If you decide to do it, take photos of your progress. All the best.

Depending on the severity of your scars then lotions may be somewhat beneficial. However from what I have read is that there is limited effectiveness of creams and lotions for physical acne scarring, and claims that cure acne scarring can be somewhat far-fetched. Generally speaking, acne scarring needs new collagen formation in order to regenerate damaged skin. However in saying all this you are welcome to try, and see what works for you.
