hi!

these are what i feel are huge pores.they look like enlarged hair pores and i can actually see tint hairs in them.
they are there around my nose area and cheek.some slightly smaller ones on my forehead.

picture :
post-200657-0-58567500-1371899310_thumb. post-200657-0-32284200-1371899422_thumb. post-200657-0-40360500-1371899531_thumb.

does this look like huge pores to u?OR are they scarred pores?

i am encircling the few pores which looks like scarred pores.are they?

here :post-200657-0-37664200-1371899587_thumb. post-200657-0-68664400-1371899647_thumb.

do u have such pores?

i have a feeling that they have become noticeable after i went on accutane(about 6-7 mnths ago;my dosage was less & not foo long)
any idea if this could be possible?

any idea how these could be treated?any way dietary changes  or use of 'non-chemical' topical could improve the state if not treat it completely?

i use : salicylic acid foaming facewash(1% and pH balanced) twice daily before and after bed.plus,
i wash my face without cleanser (JUST SPLASH WATER) about 3 times through out the day - for instance before application of topical gel or after dancing/exercising etc.
also, apply faceclin gel(clindamycin + nicotinamide) as spot treatment on bumps etc

thanks.

Hi

I have some of these, and know people who have these too.  I have not found a solution, but then again, I have not tried.

:)

I think most people have them, and we just focus too much on our faces that we don't realize it is normal.

Your pores are clean though.  I think the only thing that could help with something like this is maybe a chemical peel?  But I am not sure.  I've never seen a solution for big pores.  Except using cold water but I think that is more of a temporary effect.

i know.

i wish we find something that would help it.

anything diet wise or topical.

do some study and i'll do the same.

i also think i should work on my oil production now.

that may have some effect as well.

like they say, bigger pores show more oil production so may be less oil production would atleast make the pores look better.

arey i said that on a lighter note... smile.png ,I don't judge people by their skin. Wouldn't that be preposterous? I mean a person with immaculate skin,if he/she judges a person by his skin ,he gets labelled as "Vain". Now if an individual like me with pathetic skin judges another individual by his skin, that's contrary to all logic! It's like a retard calling another retard "Retard" haha... I love intellectual girls smile.png Girls who are good in math (1 in 1000) lol. Somehow math girls turn me on! wink.png I know it sounds wierd. But that's how i'm wired. =P

And yes,i will search on this. We'll defeat the pores! No pore is mightier than my "Perseverance".

So i studied a lot on this. All the articles say it's all genetics and you can't change anything to control the oil production of your skin and so your pores. But they say Zinc and Vitamin A can help the skin (We already know this). Most articles said that one should avoid dairy and spicy food because it makes you skin produce more oil(again...we already know this). One interesting article mentioned milk of magnesia (MOM) as a remedy for oily skin. You should read about it.Maybe you already know about it but it was a new thing for me.

I'll read more about Milk of magnesia (MOM)

P.S-Funnily in the article the author kept mentioning how "MOM" helped him to solve his acne woes.I thought he meant mother but then he wrote the full form "Milk of Magnesia" . hehe :P

lol!

yes, there is a thread by CBIOT13 i suppose on MOM.

a trial on oily skin.

just use the search bar here.

someone else on this forum(actually more than one) dismissed the fact that the pores opens and closes as a myth and i always felt so.

but some stuff does make these appear smaller.

may be thats just temporary or fake but no harm carrying on the study.

i am going slow though.

i am basically working on huge pores and then oily skin!

OMG glad im not alone. I have very oily skin, mostly my forehead, nose especially, and around my nose under my eyes. Those areas have huge pores too for me, but my forehead is okay with pore size so far. I cant find any help either, but this looks very promising. Check it out, i might order some samples.

http://www.paulascho...orconcern1=Oily

This stuff is for oily skin, but even if you dont have oily skin, it should still help with big pores.

http://www.paulascho...Reducing-Toner/

This stuff says its made to minimize pore size, and reviews say it does, so you should try it, i will soon hopefully. You can order a sample size for only $0.50!

Take a look at the rest of the products for oily and combo skin, and just look around the site. Good luck!

They could be enlarged from being clogged and will shrink if you keep them clear. The only thing that's ever worked for my blackheads is oil cleansing.

I also have some tiny scars that look similar. Right where those creases start to form around your mouth as you age. So it looks like I already have age creases on one side of my mouth.
Status: Clear after 30 years. Wow, I guess it's been 6 years, now.

[ Story: Severe Acne since I was 10. 10+ years of Dermatologists, Antibiotics, topicals and ACCUTANE did nothing. Discovered oranges triggered the worst of my cystic acne = about 70% improvement. Tried some nutrient supplements like B-complex with zinc and C, saw palmetto and a BHA like the aspirin mask = more improvement, a lot less oily. Then, Diet changes = Clear.

Regimen: Anti-inflammatory, nutrient dense, blood sugar stabilizing diet and supplements (for hormones, inflammation, aging, health). No soap or other cleanser except for hand washing! Water only or Oil cleanse. Aloe Vera mixed with niacinimide and a high linoleic acid oil for moisturizer and reduce pigmentation.

Diet effects acne in so many ways: hormone balance, inflammation, Insulin levels, digestion, allergies and intolerances, liver function, adrenal function, SHBG levels, sebum quality, cell function and turnover, nutrient deficiencies, body fat, etc. Basic advice: Eat, sleep, supplement and exercise like you are a diabetic. And eat real food!

I wouldn't worry so much about un-inflamed, large pores. Those sometimes shrink on their own... and sometimes they don't. Either way, nobody is going to look that closely. Sometimes pores get enlarged from the constant clogging>inflammation>acne process, which goes away when the acne does. Your skin looks a bit congested but not very inflamed. I'd avoid dairy, sugar, and excess carbs, do some oil cleansing, and let them resolve (or not) on their own. You do appear to have some mild scarring, but it's not bad. And, like I said. Nobody is looking that closely. Scarring like that sometimes goes away on its own. I had some mild scarring a year ago, and it's gone now.

Suffered from acne as a young adult that went into remission when put on hormonal birth control. Went off the HBC around age 22 and the acne returned with a vengeance (along with a host of other hormonal complaints). 100% clear with a modified diet that excludes dairy, sugars, grains, citrus and cured meats and emphasizes whole food-based nutrition from both plant and animal sources, most notably organ meats like liver and juiced whole vegetables. I have included a recipe for the most helpful juice I have come up with for skin complaints. I drink it every day, and it is invaluable for acne due to the large amounts of vitamin A (carotenoids) from both the carrots and beets. It also helps improve your coloring if you are very fair, giving you a pinkish, more radiant look (not orange. Don't worry!).

Magic Juice

In a juicer, combine:

5-6 carrots

1 medium beet

2-3 stalks of celery

1 small apple (Green is preferred. Omit if you are very sugar-sensitive)

1 small (1inch) piece of ginger (optional, but good for digestion)

This makes a variable amount of juice depending on the size of the vegetables you use.

Drink this throughout the morning until it's gone. Store in the fridge not longer than one day.

Having perfectly clear skin on my wedding day was worth all the headache and effort of figuring out how diet affects acne!
