I was on accutane and now I have no more acne. I now have redness and red marks and hyperpigmentation on my face left over from previous acne. Now I want to clear these red marks, what should I do or use? I have used cetephil moisturizer before but it made my skin more red, greasy, and made me breakout. Any suggestions?

Hi Joshxxx. I am currently dealing with these stubborn acne marks as well and what I have learned so far are these:

1. Exfoliate!!!! You can go for a natural way like baking soda but I recommend you to use chemical peels (I recommend lactic acid peel) if your skin can take it as it exfoliates deeper into the skin.

2. Use bleaching ingredients such as kojic acid, lemon juice, etc.

3. For faster result, get laser treatment.

Exfoliate? With what? And should I moisturize or will that not help? I'm thinking of getting laser but I heard it pricey as well

There are many options of exfoliation. I think that chemical peels are the most effective exfoliation method but that is just my opinion. Moisturizing your skin is good but it wont really help fading acne marks.
