Text67sun must be right. You cannot forget moisturizer: be gentle with your skin.

And your skin is not that bad, probably a breakout. You have to be patient, even if we all know here it's hard.

My order just arrived: Burt's Bees Sensitive Facial Cleanser (with cotton extract) and Dickinson's Witch Hazel pore cleanser.

I have had acne on my upper cheeks and sides of my forehead for years just like you have here. I dealt with this for many years until I finally grew old enough to take myself to the doc to see what's up. I tried all the big name products. Proactive, clean and clear, etc. but my doctor told me those were mostly for cleaning your skin so acne would go away but then he asked have I ever though about infections in my acne instead of it just being dirty skin turning into acne. Well pretty much I was put on Tretinoin Cream. It is a prescribed cream for acne. This I was on for literally maybe 2 weeks and my skin had become almost flawlessly smooth. Maybe one or two bumps but incredibly smooth. The red marks were still a little visible but it was just the skin. It did not hurt or anything. The only problem is that my skin still had one pimple. This pimple I had on my nose for so long maybe 2-3 months , I then went to my doc and was prescribed a much stronger cream/gel called Veltin. This along with antibiotics to kill the infection and the gel took care of the rest once it's gone it's stays gone trust me. This cream can be almost $350 if you don't have insurance so I recommend if you don't got insurance stick to the basics but if you want your acne gone in a week or less Go with Veltin, it can be very expensive but well worth it. Look it up you should find nothing but great reviews. Hope this helps :)

Nothing crazy to report. I do have a red bump coming in on the side of my eyebrow and one on my cheek that im hoping won't turn into pimples so i put some differin on em before bed. Otherwise its not any better or worse, just in the middle.

but Differin will most likely turn trapped sebum deep in your skin into pimples, that's the whole point of Differin: it speeds up the process with which your skin pushes out sebum that is clogging your pores and this will cause pimples. There is no way around that if you want to get clear skin.

Also, I do not think spot treatment is the correct way to use Differin: you most likely have clogged pores all over your skin, even when not immediately visible. If you want to clean out your skin, you need to put Differin on all areas of your face where you think you have clogged pores., every night, for a long period.

Differin is frustrating to use as it makes things worse before it gets better, and this can take months. If you just want to just control pimples, it's probably better you use something that kills the bacteria, but this will not solve the fundamental problem of clogged pores.

Some update for you all. I had a night of drinking last night, so that might trigger a flare up, I haven't really experimented with that but there are pimples that weren't there before. I also went to the Keys and got a sunburn on my face and it helped tremendously. Like, you couldn't even see the hyperpigmentation or scars at all. But, since I'm very fair skinned, it already went back to pale white v.v

I ordered some tea tree oil and will use that as a spot treatment from now on for the pronounced pimples so I don't pop them and cause more damage. Hope that works!

My experience with Differin so far is a little depressing to be honest, all it ever does is just make my face look worse, but no real effects of good. The Burt's Bees Sensitive Cleanser is pretty good, apart from it being lotion like. And the Dickinson's Witch Hazel Toner has a strong scent but does it's job I suppose.

You gotta hang in there with topicals you will see results if you are consistent with it. 3 months of use is what you need to give a product before you can judge its effectiveness. You could have just been purging in the beginning weeks.

The other poster said he didn't think spot treating was a good idea. I disagree you have great skin and there is no need to treat those areas. Any derm would suggest spot treatment to you.

For lack of a better word: Fuck. I assume I've hit the depression stage of my battle. It only ever gets worse, then maybe good for a day or two, then back to messed up and blotchy, red, painful bumps, etc. It's not genetic, I'm 18 and went through puberty long ago, I eat okay, I drink nothing but water, I exercise. And every single person I know doesn't do anything and have perfectly clear smooth skin. Like why is it just me? Why do I have to stick out like a sore thumb? It doesn't make sense. Only way I can see it is torturing; for nothing.   Attached File  IMG_5905.JPG   126.96K   15 downloadsAttached File  IMG_5904.JPG   59.87K   16 downloadsAttached File  IMG_5903.JPG   65.69K   10 downloadsAttached File  IMG_5902.JPG   71.96K   7 downloadsAttached File  IMG_5901.JPG   58.2K   7 downloadsAttached File  IMG_5899.JPG   60.95K   13 downloadsAttached File  IMG_5891.JPG   58.56K   21 downloads

Look, I don't want to seem like a complainer when I'm sure there are worse acne sufferers out there. But just because it's not as bad as other people doesn't mean its not bad and harmful to your feelings/outlook/etc.

How does your skin feel? Remember if ever your skin feel dry or gets flakey you can cut the witch hazel with water. Tea tree works great for spot treatment. It definitely shortens the time pimples are visible for me.

I get it. You are not alone here. I have to live with my husband who washes his face once a day with shampoo and he has flawless pore less skin. I don't know why some of us are so unlucky. But in all reality, we are our own worst critics, and it is hard to believe but a lot of people don't even think about your acne when they look at you. We more paranoid that is all people notice, but it's not.

It can take 1-3 weeks for a pimple to form so I would decide on a firm routine now and stick to it religiously for a greater length of time. As long as you change things you will never know what is helping/hurting your skin. The pimples you have now probably originated from something weeks ago.

Yeah, no one ever comments on my acne, and when they do, they say it isn't bad. I've been using the Burt's Bees Cleanser and Dickinson's Toner, i got tea tree oil today. I'm not sure how to incorporate it.

Almost all the people of my age that I know could not care less about their skin, and they don't even have a damn pimple: "Why is it just me?", that is the question.

Have you tried tea tree oil on your spots?

Never tried Tea Tree Oil. I'm not sure if I should put it on after cleansing with a q-tip or if I should mix it in the cleanser. Idk

You can do either. It is best if you can find some way to leave it on like with your toner but you would need an eye dropper. You do want to be very careful not to go overboard. It is quite potent but thats good so it'll last forever!

When you put the witch hazel on a cotton ball, add a single drop of tea tree and then apply gently all over face/neck. This way you won't be washing it off.

If you don't have an eye dropper yet you can get some of the tea tree on a q tip and dab it on blemishes. Either that or add one drop to the cleanser while in your hand but you would be washing it off afterwards.

Lately I have been adding one drop to my shampoo while it is in my hand, 2 drops to my body wash, and when I wash sheets/pillow cases I also put 3 drops in the washer.

I got the Tea Tree Oil and todays the first day I've applied it. Let's see how it goes. I've applied it after a shower and before bed.
