Been eating just broccoli and cooking steamed chicken breast everyday for the last few days.  Of course eating this is kinda making me sick because the taste is very bland.

What other foods can i eat where the taste is okay and it doesn't make acne worst?

I ate brown rice a lot the last 2 month and well i started to see more pimples.  I had thought brown rice was good since i use to eat white rice and read brown rice had no gluten.

I also juice cucumber juice as well.

Is there any healthy foods i can make that won't make my acne worst?  If i make salad, then i can't use salad dressing etc.

I stopped eating bread b/c i read there is gluten and wheat in it.  I can't even have a sandwich.  I read you shouldn't eat red meat like steak etc and even stuff like ham is not good for your skin.

I use to eat granola bars and love it but stopped b/c it has glutten, wheat and lot of sugar.  I also loved eating cereal with milk but i stopped it b/c it has lot of sugar and wheat.  I also stopped eating cheese b/c it breaks me out.  I stopped eating any chocolate b/c thats another thing that has breaken my face out.

What can i even eat anymore?

I so want to have a breakfast like eggs and sausages or biscuits but i cant obviously.  I cant even eat pizza, steak or ice cream once because each time i eat it, i break out.

I obviously have a very tough time when outside eating b/c well everything isn't good unless you order a salad.

Why can't you have eggs? And all the other vegetables and meats?

Eggs is diary and i want to avoid dairy.  I know for a fact 100 percent cheese causes me acne.  Im not sure about eggs and milk but when i ate cereal with milk, i got lot of pimples.

What meat are you talking about?  Seems like most meat are red meat which isn't good.  And only way to cook chicken and steam chicken breast.  I mean, im afriad of even grilling chicken.

Eggs are not dairy. Dairy is produced by mammals to feed their young. eggs are the embryos of birds.

And why do you think red meats are 'bad'? (Although you should stick with meat from pastured/free roaming animals, but that's true of the chicken you are eating as well.)

You shouldnt be so food crazy honestly. I was like that last year and i finally was referred to an allergist by my derm and i found out i had many sensitives to things such as oranges, Lemons, Bananas, Peaches, Oats, bakers yeast, dogs, cats, horse, rag weed, oak trees, beech trees among many other things that could actually flare up my rosacea and also broke me out. Im in no way a doc but maybe see an allergist... ? or a nutritionist Good LUCK! :D

This is why I dislike this section, because it drives many people into anorexia. No matter what these people claim acne *isn't usually* caused by a food intolerance or allergies and can't be managed with diet. You can eat a diet of nothing but "raw carrots" for the rest of your life and still have the worst case of acne known to man.

Listen to your dermatologists and doctors not these people on the internet! they don't know much of anything and don't have any type of degree. Eat what you want.

dairy products(like milk, cheese and sometimes even yogurt) should be avoided.(not if u r okay with it).

also, red meat is not good for heart but for acne,am not sure.

u can have it once in a while without breaking out.

u're to check for intolerance.

if u aint to a thing,u can have it without any negative effects.

except for dairy, sugary stuff and refine/processed goods.

also, try to avoid too oily/spicy stuff.they aint very good for ur gut.

i personally believe high fat diet is extremely unhealthy for anyone(although i read now and then people getting cured of acne through those,i can only hope there's no damage in long run)

but that doesnt mean u have to eat boiled stuff all the time.

use good oils and limit vegetable oils etc

use of adequate amount of fat(healthy) and oils is important for ur skin and overall health.

have fruiits(preferably low GI ones but dnt quit on others.specially because papaya and some of other GI fruits are great for skin health).

have lemon water(its said to flush out toxin) and also take care of ur insulin spikes with cinnamon(after meals).

take care of ur water intake.

exercise, sleep well and de-stress as much as u can.

do stuff u can carry on for long and give things time.

maintain a good skincare routine.

The amount of neuroticism here kinda drives me nuts sometimes too haha.

Enjoy your life. Have fun, hangout with friends, get a hobby.

They're us much more to life than chicken and broccoli.

Sorry if that sounds harsh at all but, I'm just being realistic

It drives me nuts too.  But that does not mean people shouldn't learn what is healthy and that you can't enjoy a healthy diet.  A bit of knowledge goes a long way.  This person who was only eating chicken and broccoli thought that eggs were dairy products.

People, before you start cutting out foods, learn a few basics.  Have you not noticed that they always lump them together as Eggs AND dairy?  The And is clue. It's a conjunction. It indicates that you are talking about two different things. Different things.  It's elementary school grammar.

I wonder if the reason people think eggs are dairy is because they are almost always situated right next to each other in grocery stores. lol.gif

There are SO MANY yummy food stuffs you can eat that are really healthy and anti-inflammatory! I was on a paleo diet for a while and and I never went hungry, especially after my cravings for chocolate cake went away. You just have to do some investigation and you'll find tons of stuff that are good to eat. Even chicken and broccoli can be spiced up to be super tasty if you get creative with seasonings. :]

Or you can have some chocolate. I do just about every day. It's a quality, low sugar dark chocolate. And I melt it and mix with sprouted sunflower seeds, coconut, cacao nibs, which increase the cacao and reduce the sugar percentages.  But I also eat regular chocolate at times, when someone gives it to me. In small amounts. It's the glycemic load that matters.  I try to have a few almonds with it.

But good for you. And great post.

Do you like seafood at all? I try to mostly avoid grains, dairy and added sugars and have found that this helps my skin immensely, as a result I now mostly follow a "paleo" style diet, although I do eat occasional soy and other beans as well. I also find that getting lots of healthy fats like the omega-3 oils in fish helps a lot! I am also experimenting with getting lots of zinc in my diet as I've heard that can help skin, sometimes food-related acne can be as much about the nutrients you aren't getting as it is about bad foods you should avoid. If you want to eat a salad, have you tried using a simple vinigrette for dressing, like olive oil and balsamic vinegar? Even italian dressing might be okay, as long as you buy a relatively natural brand. I think there are still a lot of things you can eat, you just need to experiment a little, if you break out in the process at least you will know what caused it. You should try introducing one food at a time and see how it affects you, so you don't get confused about what caused your symptoms. You may discover some new foods to eat that don't make you break out, good luck!

I agree that it's important to be healthy too. A healthy diet and lifestyle can do no wrong. I just feel a lot of people take things to the extreme without doing any research on there own. A lot of people come here for answers and get watered down information and take it as a fact.

I truly appreciate what you do for others on here. You give them good advice.

I've noticed a lot of unhealthy behavior on this forum and I'm not afraid to call people out on it anymore. It saddens me to read people depriving themselves of certain foods or depriving themselves of social interaction.

I've been there we all have been there and I wish someone would of just told me what I was doing wrong. I had to find out the hard way :/

From personal experience I can tell you that eggs and lean meats can never aggravate your acne. I have for some years now avoided simple carbs, sugars and processed foods and stuck to having eggs, lean meats, veggies and very little complex carbs and acne has stayed miles away from me.

I personally don't think that diet alone causes acne, of course some people can be intolerant to certain foods. I used to eat lots of junk and what's considered unhealthy, and my skin was crystal clear. I started getting acne from a hormonal treatment and changed my diet since people told me it would clear my skin up. Well, it didn't...

Anyway I felt it was about a time to start eating healthy so i've sticked to the healthy diet which to me means eating CLEAN and UNPROCESSED foods. And there's a ton to eat!

If you don't want to eat rice try quinoa. It tastes much alike but is actually a seed. So full in protein and gluten free. Eggs as said above are not dairy. They're rich in biotin and other vitamins which are good for your skin! And there are lots of other veggies than broccoli (zucchini, sweet potato, cauliflower, egg plant etc etc....)
If you're certain that wheat causes you acne maybe try rye or barley bread. Just make sure it's whole grain. Cereal does usually have a lot of sugar so try plain oatmeal instead, maybe mix it with banana for taste( you can make it in water if you don't want to eat dairy)
Berries are delicious and naturally sweet and nutritious(especially strawberry is high in zinc which is good for skin). And i believe natural sweeteners like honey and stevia are perfectly fine. Just stay away from the white bleached sugar! You can still have chocolate just choose dark(at least 70%) it's actually rich in antioxidants and considered healthy (in moderation ofc). AND home made popcorn is a good "bad" food. It's whole grain and if you cook it in olive/coconut oil it's not really that unhealthy at all!

AND don't obsess over the diet thing, it's really stressing and stress can cause acne too!!

That's a bit of a sweeping statement! Perhaps that's true for you, but you cannot say that it's true for everyone.
