Either that or try the cocoa butter one... The normal one didn't help as much.

Th low dose might be to not over dry your skin as I made that mistake! More isn't always better.

Honestly though, I saw nxt to no difference the first month... Chin up :)

Day 36
So I've been on 30mg now for six days! My skin has gotten slightly better, deffinately no where near perfect, but a noticeable improvement compared to my initial break out - my left cheek is still pretty broken out however my forehead, chin and right jaw are a lot lot better. I am loving not having an oily face also! it's amazing to not have to worry about shininess throughout the day and not waking up like an oil slick! (Attractive I know..!)

Not much to say really. As expected my lips are still dry, perhaps a bit drier, but nothing else I can really pinpoint at the moment. :)

Hiya, I'm not doing toooo bad thanks! How's your course going?

Day 42
My left cheek is still broken out pretty bad but my right cheek is clearing up really good and apart from a couple of tiny ones is all good. :) in terms of dryness my lips are still pretty bad but as long as I reapply Vaseline constantly I'm good. I keep getting frustrated with my skin as it is still so damaging to self esteem but am surprised at how positive I'm being if I'm honest. XD only other side effect I keep getting is really bad pains in that area under your ribs? I can't really explain but I've had it the last three/four days and its just a bit strange. If course could be completely unrelated but worth noting.

Is it around the 3rd month you can expect to see more improvements? I hope so! X

Hey mittens! Glad to hear you're staying positive, its all in the perspective :) Im less than a week behind you on the tane treatment with very similar results, still getting breakouts on my cheeks but seem to be clearing(fingers crossed). I keep wanting to get frustrated too but that's much too easy, to sit back and just feel bad for myself. Much better use of my time to focus on enjoying the little things!

It seems to me like the majority of people don't see improvements till at least somewhere in month two, but most still don't see them until the middle of month three. We just gotta keep on going and be patient.

Hiya, thanks for commenting! Yeah I find being positive can have a bit of a toll, but it's even worse being really down about it. Least with accutane you feel like there's an end goal which keeps you going! :D

Day 48
Not much to report on really. It's weird, every day it changes, sometimes I wake up and I'm like 'this is ok, I can deal' & other days like this morning I'm just like where's the paper bag. I keep into perspective my initial break out though & as long as it doesn't revert back to that, I'll be OK. Spots wise I still have quite a few scattered around my cheeks & my forehead has broken out badly again.....but it's all small ones so let's hope they go away soon. : )

Hey, we're almost on the same day and I started at 20mg as well for the first 30 days. I was surprised at how much of a difference it made in my skin at such a low dose even though I still have a long way to go. I've been on 40mg since the second month started and I'm making pretty steady progress. I totally agree that being on accutane makes it so much easier to be positive about the whole thing. Good luck, hopefully it's smooth sailing from here on out.

Yup keeping positive is the key thing! Although I feel a bit hypocritical as I'm not feeling it today. :/ had my dermatologist appointment (it was earlier than 4 weeks as only other app I could get would mean a big chance of not having enough pills) & we've agreed I won't go back until 8 weeks this time. My skin is being a bugger to be honest! Just bad jawline spots again, forehead is crazy bad and due to my hyperpigmentation it just looks like my entire skin is covered. Not good! Going to keep fingers crossed it starts to sort itself out again, I was half expecting it so least it wasn't too out of the blue.

Still kept on 30mg as he said again today he won't put me on anything higher for my weight. Hoping this will be enough as like said before, seems a lot lower than most people here (& often people who are smaller than me) but ill trust him. ;p oh & it's day 52 I think!

Day 70
Still getting occasional break outs but main problem now is my pretty awful pigmentation all over my cheeks :/ but hey, would rather marks than actives!! I do feel a bit 'congested' at the mo and very much aware of some bumps under the skin but hoping these wont escalate. Have about four actives at the mo, one particularly awful one, but other than that best it's been so far during accutane!

Side effects I seem very lucky (although I am on a low dose) but just the super dry lips and dry nose etc.

Hope I haven't jinxed myself too bad! Hope everyone's journeys going well x
