So I started the hardcore Cave Man regimen 2 days ago. Since then I've went to work and got dust in my face. I've played volleyball both days and sweated and just let the sweat dry. I have not let anything touch my face. I'm wondering if i'm doing it right. I know water isn't allowed to touch your face. But are you suppose to wipe off the oil or dirt/sweat with a towel or something? Or are you suppose to dab your face or something? Or am I doing it right and just let everything sit on my face?

You're doing it right. I did this recently, it worked great, but I caved in. I had to wash my face after 2 weeks, which I think is great since I'm the hugest hygiene freak ever.

If you stick it out, it can work. I just couldn't deal with the dead skin and itchiness that come in the first few weeks. If you get past that, it's plain sailing.

Good luck! :)

i will just repeat what i'd told LewisS

i personally dont support caveman regimen.although many loves it..for they say it doesnt hinder with the natural barrier.

but as far as i know,if u r healthy the barrier makes and remakes itself continuously.

letting dirt and sebum clog pores for the sake  'BARRIER' which can obviously be replenishes is not a great idea to ME.

removal of upper dead cell layers seems important to me.

technically acne is said to be caused by (sebum+ debris - dead cells + diet + P.acnes) so i work things out myself.

and let me tell u many have seen negative results from caveman methods.so u will have to decide for YOURSELF.what suits u and what doesnt!

people keep blaming dermas and am sure they have their own reasons.

but for some reason i feel they aint crazy people, they are learnt and know the science.

i will not deny that jumping on accutane or giving crazy prescriptions for own benefits or refusing diet-acne relation r not good.

but not all dermas are like that.

personally my derma had asked me to avoid oily/spicy food for my acne.

physical exfoliation is likely to spread the microbes and irritate skin.do chemical exfoliators can be used like bha or aha washes but of low%.

(1% or less if u have sensitive skin).

diet plays role.

dont eat HEALTHY.

eat what suits YOU.

keep track of ur food and diet.and over all regimen.

Sigh. The only part that's beneficial is the not stripping away oils with soap. The rest is goofy.

You can rinse the dust off with water or wipe with a damp cloth.

This is the 3rd night of the Regimen. So far I actually like it. My face was tight at first. But it's getting better. Face is a little oily. As the acne goes it actually looks better then when I use to wash it everyday. I have gotten 2 white heads since I started. But they aren't inflamed at all or as big as they use to be. The first one that popped up on the first day already disappeared. It use to take like 4 days to a week for one pimple to disappear. The only part that kind of sucks is it is pretty hard to wash my hair with out the water touching the very top of my forehead and the sides of my face. Other then that. Going good so far.

So 7th night on the regimen and it's going great. Not once in 7 days has a huge or inflamed zit popped up. The few minor ones I have gotten are all tiny little white heads. But I've heard that's just your skin cleansing itself. I can honestly say my face looks 10x better then it did a week ago. Then only downside right now is my face is starting to get really itchy. Might be hard to sleep. Other then that. I'm loving it.

I agree about the rest being goofy.  Not stripping away the oils with soap (or even scrubbing them off with a washcloth with water only) is pretty key.

However, for many of us, I think a huge reason for the success with the method is that we're no longer exposing ourselves to topicals we were unknowingly reacting to.  I've realized that the worst of my acne was caused by makeup and other topicals.  I'm probably allergic to them, though I never realized it before.  Of course, this won't be the case for everyone, but it was for me and probably is for many others as well.

I let my face get wet without issue.  I just never wash it.  I don't even wash my makeup off.  I just make sure I never wear makeup that my skin reacts to.  I'm having a bit of a challenge finding a good sunscreen...
