As promised, we're continuously working to improve the reviews app.

 

Today we bring you several exciting new features:

 

1. Comment system

You can now comment on one another's reviews. This is useful for several reasons e.g. a user writes a review for Benzoyl Peroxide and has found their skin is extremely dry. As a member, you can share your own wisdom, that they should use a moisturizer to keep their skin moisturized. It will also provide a great platform for companies to communicate with their customers, e.g. you have a terrible reaction to a product and rate the product 1 star, the company in question could respond and offer a means of a refund etc.

2. Product review summary

Previously, hovering over the stars would simply show you the rating of the product. Hovering over the stars, now shows how many 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 star reviews the product has received.

3. Profile summary

Hovering over a username, will now give you a summary of the users activity within the review section, such as the number of reviews they've made and links to their most recent reviews. Clicking the username will still take you to the reviews section of the users profile.

4. Sharing features

It's now much easier to share product review pages. On each page you'll find a set of social icons, that will easily allow you to share the page via Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.

5. User moderation tools

We believe we have one of the best communities in the world. You guys help us keep acne.org accurate and spam free by reporting problems you find. We've introduced a new set of reporting tools on the reviews app that allow you to flag an error in a listing or mark a product as discontinued (not much point reading reviews on an item that is no longer available). When you report something, it automatically alerts us so that we can jump in and rectify the problem.

And you can report individual user reviews that contain spam, hateful content etc.

6. Instant approval

The new moderating tools have allowed us to automatically and instantly approve your reviews. No more waiting around for a member of staff to approve them. Be sure to report content you find that breaks the rules.

 

 

We have lots more planned and we'd also love to hear your suggestions. What would make the reviews app even more awesome?

I tried to post 3 products to review last night and Im still waiting for the approval =(

Hi Carol, when you say you submitted the products for review, do you mean you added reviews for existing products? Or did you add 3 new products to the system that were not already listed?

Sorry the delay. I tried to add 3 new products to the system. The truth is Im constantly trying new stuff and there is some products I've been using for almost a year that are great and I thought I could help others by submiting and giving review. I just tried again and it tells me "ERROR try again in a few minutes". Very frustrating!
