Hi all,

I wanted to share the solution that finally worked for me.  I've been plagued by acne on my head and neck for the past year, it started for no apparent reason that I could see.

I tried anti dandruff shampoo, showering twice a day, changing my diet, etc.  and no dice.  Everything I read said the problem could be fungal, bacterial or other so I decided to just try a shampoo that was both antibacterial and antifungal, within a week the spots and lumps on my head cleared up - I'm well pleased and it turned out to be pretty cheap too (£8.20 for a very concentrated bottle), it's available from Amazon in the UK:

http://amzn.to/12UP0Ck (£8.20 for 150ml)

http://amzn.to/12UNMXG (£20.15 for 500ml)

I'd recommend trying the smaller bottle first to see if it works

I tried to find it on the Amazon in the states but it doesn't seem to be for sale, I even tried to find a substitute based on the active ingredients but no luck so I suspect they aren't allow in the U.S. or use a different name.

Good luck and I hope it works for you

Bob

Thanks for that. I have been trying different shampoos for years now for my scalp acne. Nothing has worked so far.

I have managed to get rid of acne on all the other parts of my body except my scalp.

If my current shampoo doesn't help after 3 months, I'll give ceanel a try.

This sounds excellent. For years I've developed infected acne at the base of my hairline.
I tried using tea tree oil shampoo.. Doc Bronners Without success... Now have a 3% Salycilic acid shampoo.
It would be great to have good lasting results with an anti fungal shampoo. How long has your neck acne been gone..
Do you use any other treatments...

Thanks
Ipoustigi

Hi there,

Yep the Ceanel (http://amzn.to/12UP0Ck ) is still working for me but I occassionally still get spots on my lower neck/upper shoulders, I use Stridex pads on this area if I have an outbreak and that seems to help, see http://amzn.to/16ZwJY0

hi boba, i bought this stuff a few months back after seeing your post. i was getting acne around the back of my head on the hairline. and i like having a shaved head but didn't want it shaved while i had acne there. i bought this and it's helped a lot.

i thought 8 quid was a bit expensive but it's lasted a while and still got about half left

i was getting cystic acne on my neck too but controled it by cutting out gluten about a month before buying this.

a few weeks back, when i switched back to a different shampoo it came back on my neck. then i switched back to this one and it went away again.

it's come back a bit now on my neck but this definitely helped me scalp.

Boba,

Can you please tell me the name of the product you are using?  When I follow the amazon link, it does not take me to the product, but just to the amazon home page.

Thank you!

It's called Ceanel. It was mentioned in post #4.

Does anyone know where Ceanel is available for purchase in the USA?  If not, can I buy it from someone here?

Hi all,

The only equivalent I've found in the USA is Sebex: http://www.amazon.co...7OSLO57ANTTMTIH

This is medicated shampoo though and I'm no medic so if in doubt, consult your doctor!
