Hope And Information For Scar Healing From An Attack Victim

42 posts in this topic

thank you. I wouldn't say I'm doing "so much better" but I feel like maybe I am getting better. I'm afraid the next couple of years are not going to be very much fun for me. Please do say some prayers for me, I need it. Anxiety is eating me up. I don't even want to work any more. I've lost all of my motivation. So the beta glucan is helping?? what improvements have you noticed so far? I read that it helps get rid of scar tissue? if that is the case, that would be miraculous. I'm gonna probably order some once I get my money into the bank. keep talking to me when you get chances. I feel very alone and I don't like being out of the house any more which is a shame. I hate that I'm going through this. Life was so good 2 years ago and I took it for granted, and I'm afraid now it is too late, and I am only 32.

NUBY3, your skin will heal completely within 6-months (maximum 1-year). Just eat well and take good care of yourself. BE A WARRIOR!!! BUILD YOUR CHARACTER and NEVER GIVE-UP!!!!!! Also, please listen to Joyce Meyer on podcasts, go to her sermons or read her website's articles/ buy her book "Battlefield of the Mind". She helped give me hope when I had none. She helped me through the darkest times in my life. You need to surround yourself with her motivational words of wisdom and comfort. She will teach you to trust God and enjoy life with a fighting spirit. Also, life is full of upheavel, you must learn that bad days will pass, life has cycles of good times and bad times...it can't be sunny all the time...but even when the storm clouds arrive, know that they will not stay, sunny days are on their way...so be patient and trust God 100%...btw, don't give-up your job, WORK HARDER and put your full focus on it and off your problems. EXCEL!!!

As for the Beta Glucan, trust me, this is the most amazing thing...I had literally burned my skin less than 5 weeks ago (i.e. certain sections of my skin had layers of skin disappeared/ broken open and weeping/ turned to jelly...it was horrific) and I made several more indented scars...I should have gone to an emergency ward for 2nd degree burns. However, I have been pricking my skin every 3-5 days and adding copper peptides/ vitamin e which helped. But since I've used the beta glucan in the last week, my skin has FULLY grown back, and the new scars are 98% gone!!! IT IS MIRACULOUS. I'M NOT EXAGGERATING. You have got to try it. Test pricking every 3 or 5 days on one scar and add the beta glucan to it (also add the beta glucan to your entire face skin morning and night too). Honestly, this is the most potent healing agent...I'm stunned I had never learnt of it sooner.

My skin is looking not only good, but great!... even my severly damaged forehead skin has improved exponentially (I would say my forehead is now 93-95% improved). I know I will not need laser. THIS IS MAJOR !!! This is the product I have been looking for...it is the answer... people need to know about this incredible natural healing agent's stunning active growth factors (i.e. 20 x). BP and other toxic acne products are terrible. Nature's healing agents are best!!!

Please use the beta glucan from www.newdirections.com.au as I don't know how effective other brands are: Just get a big bottle as I got the smallest bottle and it's got less than 1/2 left after using it for a week (but I use it generously 2 or 3 times a day, daily). Really, you are going to LOVE this stuff!!!: This is the URL link for the larger bottle at $50 i.e.100mls http://shop.newdirections.com.au/100-ml-Beta-Glucan-Liquid (There's also a smaller one for $13 for 17 mls - I got this and it will last me about 2 weeks...I'm getting the100mls next time).

And, I will keep checking in with you to see how you're going. Honestly, you'll get through it NUBY3 and be stronger for it...you are going through a natural change of life that happens in the late 20s and early to mid 30s....it does get better. Also, research PTS (i.e. post traumatic stress syndrome). You sound like you have been traumatized by this and other events. You need to educate yourself on how to heal yourself naturally i.e. Emotional Freedom Technique / massages/ acupuncture/ exercise/ positive thinking / nature/ pet therapy etc (just don't take any pharmaceuticals, they are toxic and cause more problems long term). Go for walks in nature or with friends, go to the beach often and/ go to an animal shelter and walk a dog or spend time helping-out once a week. However, on days you need time alone, coccoon yourself and love yourself ~ shower YOURSELF with the love you need ~. It will be okay. Take it easy. Rest well. Be well...

Saying Lots of Prayers for You NUBY3, STAY STRONG AND KEEP YOUR SAIL RAISED HIGH!!! ~ HEALING HUGS + ANGEL eusa_angel.gif LIGHT ~

well, to be honest, the main thing that I am having trouble with right now is this ingrown hair stuff that isn't in any of my photos. I had my PS try to fill the scars, and he did a good job, but I think there was a pimple forming right where he went in for subcision on this one scar, and I got another ingrown hair in extremely close proximity to the original scar. The original scar had kind of raised edges, and the filler made this scar in particular look awful. it looks like a mouth with huge puffy lips. the new ingrown hair that formed, I got out very caerfully, and it's healing, but the continued inflammation made the original scar much worse I think. Honestly, the original scar looks so bad that I just want it cut out, but he can't touch it for 4 weeks because of the inflammation and redness that is still there. So, what has me wrecked right now isn't in my photos. It looks like I have a huge cold sore on my cheek. That's what I'm most bothered by at the moment. I honestly don't see how this can turn out well. the scar looks so bad. and now it's all red and puffed up and inflamed. and there is a healing ingrown hair right next door. If I could get rid of this, I'd not be so upset. But I can't. I just want this thing off of my face.

I'm trying to stay optimistic, but it's hard because over the last 5 weeks, things have gotten worse.

yep. just did an extensive individual needling session with diabetic lancets, added a vitamin c/hyaluronic acid serum, copper peptides with EGF, and finally liquid beta glucan. I ate spring rolls for dinner and strawberries, blackberries and blueberries for dessert. here's to healing! hopefully the needling does some good. I have just started doing the individual needling recently, and after doing a few tests this was my first full face attempt. It takes a lot of time and a lot of patience with all of the small scars I have. Especially on my forehead.

Hey NUBY, good to see you're actively addressing your skin issues constructively. Just try and go slow and gently with the needling. Let your skin heal. Maybe try needling once a week at first to ensure your skin is healing and remodelling properly. Do it for 1 month and let your skin recover for a month. As I stated before, I made the mistake of getting too aggressive with my skin treatments because my skin was looking good (resilient) and I wanted my forehead skin to improve faster. I now have scarring from the intense glycolic peel/ Retin A/ skin needling session I stupidly completely in one go. However, the blisters/ skin has healed (thanks to beta glucan no doubt!), and I've only light superficial scarring there now. It will take dedication & time, but it will heal completely (i.e. 1-2 months; as the skin repairs itself in 4-week cycles, so you must wait a month to see the effectiveness of your new skin treatment). Anyway, my new scars from the glycolic acid "mistake" has nearly healed.

I have now reintroduced the Retin A/ Steiva A back into my treatment with Copper peptides (however, I'll only use it sparingly, as my skin is way more fragile now - maybe once a week or twice; as for skin rolling/ needling - I'll try that once a week or every two weeks very gently; but I'll continue with individual "skin pricking" on places that aren't as fragile every 3-5 days as needed).

However, my skin needs super strengthening & intensive moisturizing as a result of my thinned skin using Retin A/ Steiva A & glycolic peel & skin needling all at once. Which is why I just bought the following from New Directions to moisturize and nourish my skin back to health (and hopefully completely heal my forehead - which is looking less like leather [in comparison to my smooth-glass like temples that have never received any toxic Benzoyl Peroxide - unlike my central forehead]:

Here are my new additions to strengthen, intensively moisturize and rejuvenate my skin

1 Aloe Vera and Marine Collagen Rejuvenating Moisturizer $7.15 (100mls) http://shop.newdirections.com.au/epages/newdirections.sf/en_AU/?LastViewObjectID=36681&ViewAction=View&ChangeAction=&Quantity=1&ChangeObjectID=41505&x=35&y=4

2 B5 ($8.80) 17 g http://shop.newdirections.com.au/epages/newdirections.sf/en_AU/?LastViewObjectID=39482&ViewAction=View&ChangeAction=&Quantity=1&ChangeObjectID=53163&x=40&y=11

3 B3 Niacinamide15 g ($7.70) http://shop.newdirections.com.au/epages/newdirections.sf/en_AU/?LastViewObjectID=39482&ViewAction=View&ChangeAction=&Quantity=1&ChangeObjectID=53155&x=49&y=8

4. Gentle Skin Cleansing Lotion $4.40 (100mls) http://shop.newdirections.com.au/epages/newdirections.sf/en_AU/?LastViewObjectID=36655&ViewAction=View&ChangeAction=&Quantity=1&ChangeObjectID=41063&x=58&y=6

Regime:

Morning: Wash with the cleanser. Let face dry naturally. Then basically, with clean hand, I dab a generous bit of the Aloe Vera and Marine Collagen in the palm of my hand, sprinkle a little B3 vitamin powder in it and add a little bit of the B5 (which is rather sticky like clear honey) and mixed with my finger before applying it all over my face and delicately around eyes (maybe I should avoid them and only add vitamin e?...I'll see...). When dried, I add a thin film of the beta glucan. And also add pure vitamin e around my eyes.

Early evening: As above/ but do not cleanse.

Night, before bed: Wash with the cleanser. Do the same thing but add a little bit of Retin-A/ Steiva with the copper peptides and hyaluronic acid to Aloe Vera and Marine Collegen, B3 vitamin powder, B5, beta glucan.

I will let you know in a month if I recommend this new stuff. And I'll keep researching for other key active ingredients too (i.e. looking at B6 and other ingredients to add to the mix in the future)...it might be a good idea for you to keep researching the best natural products for your skin also, of course, your welcome to purchase these products above (or others) as they are fairly inexpensive. But it might be wise to see how you go with the stuff you already have...keep us posted with your skin needling and beta glucan etc, you should an improvement late next week...

Lastly, don't forget to add a very small amount of the Vitamin A prescribed to you by your PS to your regime. Retin A/ Vitamin A is key to remodelling/ smoothing your skin. It just can't be used every day without making your skin flair-up red/ peel. Try it at least every 3 days at night as your PS advised until your scars heal (and maybe every blue moon as general maintenence thereafter).

Hope you have a lovely weekend NUBY3

Take care, Peace + Light eusa_angel.gif

PS Get a little direct sunlight on your face (i.e. for 5 or 7 minutes max while your using Vitamin A as it makes your skin highly sun sensitive...but you can get the direct sunlight on other non-treated parts of your skin for longer)...the sunlight helps with producing vitamin D, which in turn helps you sleep better (as it regulates your melatonin) and boosts your mood/ overall health.

PPS I might try a fresh lime juice mask in a month...this was very helpful to conditioning my skin in the past...I just need to let my skin heal first before adding anything acidic (just don't go out in the sun with this on as it can discolour your skin in sunlight..).

my plan is to allow this to heal for 2 weeks, then to do a full face roll, and then let that heal up for 5 or 6 weeks. sound good? I have been rolling for 6 months now doing lots of rolling for 3 or 4 weeks and then taking 6 weeks off, like you said. I have seen good results. I have just started the individual needling and I think it will help me a lot. I do want to still do the full face rolls though, so I figured i'd let this heal for 2 weeks or so and then do the full face and then just let it be for a while. Might do some .5 rolls for topical absorption though. It's the kind of thing that takes 6-8 months to get your process figured out properly. Maybe even a year. It really works though, I can tell you for sure that it does. it's slow and takes patience. I see people giving up after a couple of months and 2 or 3 sessions, but it takes more than that to see it start to really work. I have done many, many sessions. I have done one TCA cross, and it seemed to help the needling along. I think they work nicely together.

That sounds like a great idea NUBY3!! Yes, take the skin needling slowly and gently. The Vitamin A thins the skin so you need to go slow & let the skin heal. And the individual needling really helps specific scars fill-out faster too. Just be careful with the TCA, it's a very strong peel. It might be too strong now that you're on the vitamin A. I personally think you should stay away from the TCA for a good while as you're trying the skin needling with the Vitamin A etc instead. Give that a chance to work for 6 months. Then if you feel you need to, return to the TCA cross after stopping the vitamin A for a good month or two. Whatever you decide to do, go slow, and test one scar before trying your new treatment on all of them (to minimize any potential complications/ mishaps). I've been using glycolic but I've read recently that lactic acid might be better. I'm never tried lactic acid...I may try it in 4 or 6 months when my skin fully heals.

However, I have to report the amazing results I'm getting from:

1 Aloe Vera and Marine Collagen Rejuvenating Moisturizer $7.15 (100mls) http://shop.newdirec...=41505&x=35&y=4

2 B5 ($8.80) 17 g http://shop.newdirec...53163&x=40&y=11

3 B3 Niacinamide15 g ($7.70) http://shop.newdirec...=53155&x=49&y=8

4. Gentle Skin Cleansing Lotion $4.40 (100mls) http://shop.newdirec...=41063&x=58&y=6

More specifically, the B3 Niacinamide and the Aloe Vera and Marine Collagen from New Directions. I'm not sure if you need this, as your overall skin condition looks REALLY good (and you really only have isolated scarring to heal), but this is incredible!!! You might like to try it too for general skin maintenence, I'm sure it would be HIGHLY beneficial to you too. Why O why did I never hear about it before??? My severly damaged forehead skin (which looked like old leather at it's worst stage) was depleted of nutrients and blood supply since it atrophied from using Benzoyl Peroxide (and other toxic acne products prior to being vegan and eating very healthy) over many years. The skin rolling helped greatly along with the copper peptides, Retin A, vitamin e, hyaluronic acid, glycolic peels etc. However, NOTHING compares to the niacinamide (in conjunction with the Aloe Vera & Marine Collagen Moisturizer). I place a generous amount of moisturizer on my palm and the spinkle about 1/5 to 1/4 1/10 of a teaspoon of the B3 niacinamide to it and mix in my palm with my finger and slather it on (NOTE: you have to watch it go on for 1/2 hour in the mirror as little white patches appear where you need to add more moisturizer as the skin tends to drink it in...and the B3 niacinamide gently brightens and lightens your skin too...). Just keep a hand mirror beside you to check every 5 or 10 minutes over the hour to ensure that you moisturize those white patches so they don't lighten that area too much.

However, this stuff is MAGIC to sun damaged, chemical damaged, leathery coarse skin, damaged skin, orange peel skin, acne damaged skin, collagen loss skin, rosacea, red skin, pigmentation, rolling scars etc. Along with the Aloe vera + Marine Collagen moisterizer (which also contains shea butter, vitamin e, almond oil etc), it has literallly transformed my skin before my eyes. In my case, I do need to use a lot of it. And now, my skin condition's better now than it was over 10 years ago!!! I TOTALLY recommend this stuff...I also place the the B5 directly onto my skin (I tap it on because it's thick and tacky), and then add the rest. Btw, I store all these things in a paper bag in the fridge to keep them fresh.

Here are some links about Niacinamide:

http://immortalhair.forumandco.com/t2352-niacinamide-impressive-for-skin-hyperpigmentation-collagen-acne-aging-photodamage

In future, I am going to keep adding nutrients/ active ingredients to the mix as the guy in your link advised. He's totally right!!!! Thanks for sharing the link NUBY3 smile.png There are so many things to try now that I have seen concrete personal evidence that potent vitamins/ natural active ingredients can do WONDERS for the skin in concentrated forms. I always knew intuitively that my skin was "hungry" for nutrients but I wasn't sure what ones and didn't realize that direct topical applications of these nutrients could deliver such stunning results in a short amount of time. This is a life changing revelation for me. I hope you continue searching for solutions too...they are out there, and clear, healthy skin is within reach...

Btw, please let me know how the beta glucan is going over the next week...

~ Peace ~

PS Here are the ingredients of the Aloe Vera + Marine Collagen Moisturizer from New Directions: Ingredients: Purified Water, Sunflower Oil, Vegetable Glycerine, Cetearyl Alcohol, Capric / Caprylic Triglyceride, Almond Sweet Oil, Shea Butter, Natural Vitamin E, Macadamia Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Stearic Acid, Ceteareth 20, Caprylyl Glycol, Carbomer, Dimethicone, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Hydroxide, Aloe Vera Leaf Juice Powder, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Ethylhexylglycerin

It has not made me break out at all!!!

Yes! All or at least most of the advice you are giving me is what I have already been doing. I AM NOT doing another TCA cross for a while at least. Honestly, after the initial one and continued improvement from the needling, there are only 2 or 3 scars I would even cross again, the rest I believe are best treated using the needling. I have decided to stick with the needling for now, and then let things heal. The link helped you, that's great!! It helped me a great deal as well. I have a drawer full of really great topicals that I rotate and use at different times. I didn't realize it, but the copper peptide/EGF serum I use also has beta glucan in it. I am very glad though that I ordered the liquid beta glucan by itself, because the amount of beta glucan in my copper peptide/EGF serum is probably not much, and I am very interested to see how much difference it makes. It feels really good on the skin. Thanks again, and good luck!!!!

So glad to hear your skin is healing NUBY3 smile.png The EGF + beta glucan + copper peptides etc and individual needling will do WONDERS for your skin!!! The serum you're using sounds great too...happy to hear that the beta glucan is not wasted and feels good on your skin. It can only do you good as it's a super nutrient...it should also give your skin extra conditioning and protection as it continues to encourage structural healing...your skin will heal really fast as you continue to nurture it back to health...keep at it!!!

Have a lovely weekend,

NUBY3, I read that the skin has a 4-week renewel cycle, but it takes new collagen 2 to 3 months to form. .. Just keep that in mind....Also, here is a list I've compiled that seems to be helpful to healing skins...I don't know all of them, but it might be useful to know for future reference...please research them extensively before considering them:

Gotu Kola - Centella

Retinaldehyde

Liposomes

Chlorella Liposomes

CoEnzyme 10

Omega 3,6,9

B6

MSM

Seabuckthorne

DMAE

Idebenone

Alpha lipoic acid

Matrixyl R 3000

Pycnogenol

Magnesium

Green tea

Carnosine

Zinc

N-acetyl glucasamine

Also, if anyone reading this list above has experience with these ingredients, please let me know whether you recommend any...

Cheers!

FYI, Just using beta glucan now, not the other ingredients nor the moisturizer (too drying to wear overnight - only helps temporarily & cosmetically, not structurally)....(the B5 + B3 should be used only in store bought dermatological products). They helped initially, but are too strong for my skin now....I don't recommend buying them individually, you could damage your skin. But the beta glucan is still highly recommended. Hope it's helping you NUBY3 :)

After reading this thread I just wanted to drop in and let you know that as an 18-year-old girl, acne scars on guys are definantly not a "put-off" - the rugged look is actually quite hot ;) not to seem creepy or anything. I know it must be very upsetting for you, but we don't really care at all. Honest. You seem like a really nice person, and that will get you further in life than most anything else.
