Hello, I am looking for ideas for a good smelling essential oil that I can use in my Apple Cider Vinegar facial toner. The toner works great, but the smell is killing me and I'd hate for anyone else to smell it one me too. I have used mint extract in the past, but the menthol seemed to irritate my oily/sensitive skin.

And I'm a guy, so anything woodsy or marine smelling would be perfect. I've been looking at cedarwood, but I don't know if that'd bother my skin.

So if anyone has any recomendations on essential oils for the toner or experience using specific essential oils it'd be very much appreciated.

peppermint or spearmint may have topical anti androgen benefits.   Things like lavender and lemongrass can repel mosquitos a bit. Or a lot, but I assume you want a subtle scent.

Status: Clear after 30 years. Wow, I guess it's been 6 years, now.

[ Story: Severe Acne since I was 10. 10+ years of Dermatologists, Antibiotics, topicals and ACCUTANE did nothing. Discovered oranges triggered the worst of my cystic acne = about 70% improvement. Tried some nutrient supplements like B-complex with zinc and C, saw palmetto and a BHA like the aspirin mask = more improvement, a lot less oily. Then, Diet changes = Clear.

Regimen: Anti-inflammatory, nutrient dense, blood sugar stabilizing diet and supplements (for hormones, inflammation, aging, health). No soap or other cleanser except for hand washing! Water only or Oil cleanse. Aloe Vera mixed with niacinimide and a high linoleic acid oil for moisturizer and reduce pigmentation.

Diet effects acne in so many ways: hormone balance, inflammation, Insulin levels, digestion, allergies and intolerances, liver function, adrenal function, SHBG levels, sebum quality, cell function and turnover, nutrient deficiencies, body fat, etc. Basic advice: Eat, sleep, supplement and exercise like you are a diabetic. And eat real food!

Yes pretty much anything that can at least neutralize the scent would be enough. I went bike riding with someone on a hot day last week and I could actually smell the ACV toner coming out of my pores as I was sweating; I really can't have that lol.

Thanks for your suggestions, I'll look into the lemongrass and lavender.
