In need of a good foundation for oily skin that wont break me out and give me more pimples?

I've been using Revlon Colorstay for Oily/Combination Skin for a few weeks now and I haven't experienced any breakouts with it. Gives good buildable coverage and it keeps my face pretty matte.

Morning Routine:
- CLEANSER: Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser/Acne.org Cleanser
- BENZOYL PEROXIDE : 1 pump of The Acne.org 2.5%
- MOISTURIZER: CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion + Neutrogena Moisture with SPF 15 + 5-6 drops of Acne.org Jojoba Oil

Evening Routine:
- CLEANSER: Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser/Acne.org Cleanser
- BENZOYL PEROXIDE : 1 pump of The Acne.org 2.5%
- MOISTURIZER: Cetaphil Moilturizing Cream + Acne.org AHA + 5-6 drops of Acne.org Jojoba Oil

Extras:
- Concealer: MAC Studio Finish Concealer in C25 (for redness)
- Pressed Powder: MAC Select Sheer in NC20 (for mattefying)
- Foundation: Revlon Colorstay for Oily/Combination Skin in Buff (for even skin tone)
- Scrub: St. Ives Apricot Scrub Blemish and Blackhead Control (twice a week in the AM)
- Medication: Diane 35
                     Meftormin 500mg (for PCOS)
- Supplements: Vitamin D3 (1000UI/day) --- Started 5/16/2013
                         Zinc (50mg/day) --- Started 5/16/2013

And this is all done as gently as possible. smile.png

I have recently started using Almay nearly naked foundation (I probably wear make up once a week) and have only used it twice. It is pretty amazing plus has an SPF 15! Probably the best foundation I have bought and it was on sale for $10!

Regimen started 27/03/13

Morning & night routine:
Cetaphil cleanser for oily and acne prone skin
Dans BP
Cetaphil moisturizer and Dans AHA+ mixed

(jojoba oil at night)

Prescriptions;
Doxycycline 50mg/day
Estelle 35ED birth control

Supplements daily:
Womens multivitamin
Zinc 50mg
B-50 complex
Vitamin C 1g
Pantothenic acid 1g

Vitamin D 2500UI

I love my Almay truly lasting color foundation. I never breaks me out like all my other foundations. And it covers my acne scars perfectly.

Revlon Colorstay for combination/oily skin. - contains salicylic acid too. Make sure you don't get the normal/dry skin one because it contains ingredients which will break you out.

Rimmel lasting finish 25 hour is also very good and more natural looking, however it is not for pale skin. Even the shade ivory is at least as dark as a mac nc25

Morning Routine:

- Avene Soapless Gel Cleanser

- Boots Time Delay AHA Toner

- Boots Botanics Rosewater Toning Spritz

- Hyaluronic Acid Serum (homemade)

- Hazelnut oil with rosemary + clary sage (on acne prone areas)

- Alpha Hydrox Enhanced Cream (10% Glycolic Acid)

- SK:N Sunscreen SPF 30

- W7 Camera Ready Primer

Evening Routine:

- Lush Ultrabland + Washcloth

- Soap & Glory ULTIMELT Hot Cloth Cleanser + Washcloth

- Boots Time Delay AHA Toner

- Differin 0.1% cream

- Hazelnut oil with rosemary + clary sage (stops oil production)

- Vitamin C Serum (also homemade) OR

- Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum

Once/Twice a week:

- Green Clay Mask (+ salicylic acid)

- Exfoliate with No7 skin cleansing brush

what about makeup forever's foundations?

I went to the store and asked for a sample of the Makeup Forever HD Foundation (It is about the size of a disposable paint cup) and I used it a couple of days and I did not experience a breakout. I did notice that if you don't use a primer it will slide all over your face though.

My Personal Log Detailing my adventures from "Natural to Not".

CURRENT REGIMEN:
(AM)
Neutrogena Facial Cleansing Bar for Acne Prone Skin, Clindamycin Phostphate Topical 1%, Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 45, Equate Absolutely Beaming Daily Moisturizer, (I mix this and the sunblock together and the sunblock helps mattify the moisturizer), 1x Vitamin D3, 1x Borage Oil, 2x Burdock Root, 1x Vitamin E, 1x Vitamin A, 2x Calcium, 1x Vitamin B Complex, 1x Vitamin C.
(PM)
Ortho-Tri Cyclen Lo, Cetaphil Anti-Bacterial Gentle Cleansing Bar, Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid, Clindamycin Phosphate Topical 1%, Grapeseed Oil.

I have to agree with nicmic62 and say Revlon Colorstay combination/oily skin is really good. I've been using it for almost 2 years now and it doesn't cause my to break out at all. Another good brand is the Maybelline Fit Me range but I don't use that because none of their shades are fair enough in colour for me.

My Skincare Routine

Morning:
Wash face with Thursday Plantation Acne Face Wash

Night:

Remove makeup with Nivea Daily Essentials Facial Cleansing Wipes (Fragrance Free)
Wash face with Thursday Plantation Acne Face Wash

Gently scrub face with regular table salt
Wash face with Proactiv Deep Cleansing Wash

Shower:

Clean & Clear Deep Action In-Shower Facial Mask

Antibiotics: Doryx 50mg morning and at night

Make up: Revlon Colorstay for combination/oily skin
Did an 8 month course of Roaccutane in 2003

what about makeup forever's foundations?

I have very picky skin, and Make Up For Ever's Mat Velvet + is awesome.

It has buildable coverage, makes skin look nice and matte, and, most importantly, doesn't irritate or break out my skin. It's expensive ($36), but totally worth it. wub.png I have tried many different foundations, from drugstore to high-end, and this has been the kindest to my complexion. It will work best if your skin is normal to oily. Since it mattifies, it can also highlight flaky areas. I recommend moisturizing any dry spots before using it.
