Hello all,

I've been using The Regimen for three months now and I just can't beat this redness and dryness. I've finally seen some improvement with my acne in the last two weeks but this almost looks worse. I've been using almost a full pump to treat around my nose and mouth and above my forehead (a third of my face using a third of the two pumps) and two to two and a half pumps of moisturizer twice a day and have been using jojoba liberally at night and it doesn't seem to be helping. I have to reapply moisturizer every hour or so or it looks like my face is snowing and stings any time I go out in the cold and wind (Oh, Canada). Today I was so uncomfortable that I skipped my morning BP to try to recover. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get some more moisture into my face? I'm finally seeing some results from The Regimen and it would be such a disappointment if I had to stop. I saw that the Cetaphil lotion is better for flaking but I have exceptionally sensitive and grumpy skin and I'm afraid it will break me out a ton.

I use Cetaphil dry to very dry moisturizer, lots of a jojobo, aha+ and humidifier. It's a catch 22, cut back on the bp and the acne comes back, follow the routine and the flakyness never stops.

I haven't found a way to beat the flakyness. It seems like everyone on this forum has to be from the warm U.S (yes New York is warm compared to most of Canada) in order not to have this problem. I'd love to see Dan try his regimen in -40 weather rather than in California.

I guess it really differs being in different climates. I live in the Philippines and it can get pretty humid, just a little moisturizer can make your face feel heavy already. I use a gel based moisturizer in the AM because it feels lighter on the skin. At night I use my cetaphil lotion, although it makes my skin look very greasy, I don't really mind since I am going to sleep.

I would suggest trying the cetaphil cream. It is a very thick moisturizer (thicker than the lotion) that other regimen users have found success with. And AHA maybe every 3-4 days.

Thanks for the replies. I started using Cetaphil on Tuesday night and woke up with a few new pimples today. I don't know iif they're caused by the lotion or skipping Monday night's and Tueday morning's BP. I'll use the Cetaphil for the next week or so and see if any more pimples show up. The flaking is doing quite a bit better and my skin isn't so tight feeling but it is still very, very red.

Having the same problem. What is the best cetaphil lotion to buy?
