Hello everyone I've been on the water only method of the caveman regimen, however I've seen a drastic notice in the worsening of my skin and the build up of dead skin? I'm going to go to using cold water once every 3/4 days with cold water or just not washing at all. Just would like some advice with the caveman regimen.

From my experience, you need to get your face wet and rub the oil off with your hands every one or two days.

This regimen isn't for everyone. I'm currently doing the water-only method and I'm getting amazing results, I'm currently completely clear with just red marks remaining. I think my acne was due to over-washing and irritation and this regimen is ideal for me. If your acne is due to hormones, diet or bacteria, it probably won't work out.

I'm washing every day though (with cold water only), so maybe you need to do it more than every 3 days.

I will do exactly the same as mine is through irritation.

I am also during the caveman regimen and am getting amazing results! My acne is very mild but since beginning the regimen, my skin tone has evened out wonderfully and is no longer dry or oily--just right. I haven't had hardly any dead skin or flakiness yet (it has been almost a week) but I did exfoliate very lightly one time with cheesecloth and cold water. Just lightly rubbed the damp cheesecloth over my face to get any dead skin off and my skin looked amazing afterwards. Otherwise, pretty much no water on my face, and it has been a great experience so far.

During the caveman regimen, you do not let any water touch your face at all. This means no face washing, no cleansers, no moisturizers, no antibiotics, Benzoyl peroxide, or salicylic acid. If you shower, you do not wash your face in the shower. It may sound dirty and off-putting but in my experience during this week on the regimen, it has been the complete opposite and I have had great results. I believe there is also a diet aspect to the caveman regimen, but I have not looked into this as I already have a typically very healthy diet and foods don't seem to aggravate my skin. My skin is very clear since starting--no new breakouts at all. The water-only method involves using only cold water on your face. Most people just splash some cold water on their face once or twice a day and use a washcloth to exfoliate gently if needed. Those who chose the water-only method over the caveman method typically do so because some dead skin can accumulate on your face during the caveman regimen if you are not washing at all or exfoliating. I have solved this problem by exfoliating gently with a damp cheesecloth. I am at a sort of in-between of the two methods. I do not rinse my face with water regularly, but I do allow some water to get on my face during showers. This method may not give everyone great results, but my experience so far has been very very good.

Currently been doing the caveman/water only method for 2.5 weeks, no improvement, worsening but I did stop using my face products cold turkey, so I will assess my face after 2 months of this regime. Sucks how acne takes time, such a difficult thing to deal with emotionally. Specially with all the red acne marks I have and scars, seriously considering accutane.

This is true to an extent. The caveman regimen may not cure your acne, but it may have other benefits for your skin. For example, because insulin resistance is the cause of my acne, this regimen did not affect acne formation but it did improve the genral texture and quality of my skin which is a big plus if you ask me.

Hey yall! Okay, so Ive been on this regimine for 36 days..

Update: Im extremely dry and blotchy. I havent had any cysts pop up (other than one right at first that I have a feeling was already forming.. however never got terrible angry and inflamed and dried out pretty quick), but I have had alooooooot of white heads and black heads.

My question here is did you guys ever "help out" the white heads that were forming?? Or do you just have to full on let them bad boys shine. I have to admit, they're not very attractive up close blush.png
