Hi. Last year I took Accutane from May to December. A total dosage of 100mg/kg. I wanted to reach the recommended 120 mg/kg but I quit because I started to have strong eye irritations. The doctor told me that I could complete the dosage later. A month later (it was the middle of summer), he told that the treatment was over, that it was not necessary to reach 120 mg/kg.

A few days later I began to have acne. I know that even with a full dosage, acne and oily skin can come back. But because the objectives weren´t fulfilled, I would try taking another dose. So...

I went to two doctors. One told me the same that the other one, that I can take those 20mg/kg after summer, and that it was like I have never suspended the treatment, because the drug was still in the organism.

The second doctor told me the opposite. That suspending the treatment before completing the dose was like if I have never have taken anything. If I decided to continue with Accutane, I have to take the full dose. In this case, if I take now 120 mg/kg, I would be taking a total of 220 mg/kg in a year and a half, which I don´t know if it is healthy.

So... what is the true about this issue?
1- After taking 100 mg/kg, I can suspend and after three months I could take the other 20 mg, like if I have never stopped taking the drug.
2- If I suspend for a certain period of time (3 months), now I have to take a full dosage of 120 mg.

Is there a doctor specialist in Accutane who knows the answer for this?
