So I'm starting this topic because I spent a very long time looking through products and actually looking at every individual ingredient to find products that really are non comedogenic. First I want to say that I have been on Dan's Regimen for four months, and yes my skin is at least 90% clear. Unfortunately It is usually stingy, blotchy, and flaky. I follow every step completely, and use every product as directed that Dan recommends (Jojoba oil and AHA+). At the same time as all that, it is expensive (For my personal budget) and extremely time consuming. I am very thankful I came across the Regimen though, because it gave me my confidence back and taught me a lot. So that's why I went on my own mission.

Dan's Regimen is so effective because compared to every other acne system on the market, it doesn't have ingredients in it to promote more active acne, is truly non comedogenic, and isn't crazy expensive. Products can claim not to clog pores or clear acne, when in reality and most cases, they do. Based on this site, http://www.zerozits..../acnedetect.htm I used the list to decide the products I'm about to recommend. It's a scale of 0-5 on a list of comedogenic and irritating ingredients.

I found one moisturizer that will actually moisturize without any irritating or pore clogging ingredients at a reasonable price. EltaMD "Melting" Moisturizer - Tube 2.8oz (Intense Moisturizer)  at http://www.lovelyskin.com.

A wash with an active anti-acne ingredient in it, Benzoyl Peroxide. It kills bacteria on contact so it'll actually work without having to put a topical treatment on. That will reduce time, dryness, and irritation. It also has Aloe Vera as the first ingredient meaning it's base is pretty much that. Aloe Vera is really good at soothing and healing.

Derma Topix Benzaderm Wash with Aloe Vera 10% at http://www.lovelyskin.com as well.

That's pretty much all you need to achieve your best skin using topical products. a wash, an effective medicine, and a moisturizer without any irritating or comedogenic ingredients. It's basically Dan's Regimen at a cheaper price and less time. Of course though, Benzoyl peroxide is irritating, but that's reduced using it as a wash, plus with aloe in it. If you'd like a lesser strength wash, Derma topix 5% is also non comedogenic. It just doesn't have aloe. Exfoliation with a beta or alpha hydroxy acid may be benefical, and using jojoba could be as well. Use the same tips of super gentleness and touching your face very little like Dan states. Don't wash your skin more than thirty seconds to be safe (Thirty instead of ten because you want to give the medicine a chance to get every where). Follow the directions of the moisturizer as well because using a pearl sized amount goes a very long way with it.

Obviously, more than just bacteria and irritation can bring flare ups. Keeping yourself stress free, well rested, and healthy is important to getting perfect skin. Being optimistic when hormones cause you to break out is important too (helps with stress). Topical treatments could clear you, and at most be beneficial. I hope my product alternatives helps someone else out.

Acne is only a superficial flaw, and people who are worth being in your life will see the natural physical beauty and inner beauty as well. You should too. (:
