I was just reading about brown seaweed and zinc being helpful in treating acne. It was been formulated into some products made in the UK. Here's a link to an article:

Has anyone tried it?

Interesting study. However, I was a little put off by the typo in the title; ash instead of wash..lol.
Anyhoo, I'd be curious to see if this ingredient starts appearing in products. I'd be willing to give it a try. Thanks for the study.

I certainly understand about the typo, especially in a headline!
The article made it sound like the acne-fighting brown seaweed can only be found in Brittany. But I found that it is a common type of seaweed also known as Common Kelp, Oarweed and Kombu which grows in the North Atlantic. Here's another article that describes this type of seaweed: http://www.celtnet.o...hp?term=Oarweed
The DIY in me is wanting to find a way to use this plant in my own recipe. I'm not sure about the zinc aspect of it though.
