So my friend rubbed a gold ring against my skin on my hand and it turned my skin black like i drew on my hand with black crayon. She said it's because of low iron but i've had all my levels checked and they are within normal range. I tried this on other people and it doesn't happen with most. Curious why this is? What causes the chemical reaction on the skin?

I don't know the rhyme or reason behind it, but it happens to me too...:). My iron is always borderline.
