A woman said that she thought i am 15.. due to all this acne i suppose. The nicest thing is that it's "cute", all this hyperpigmentation of my cheeks looked like rouge tongue.png

Haha! My sister said to me once... "I like that you have all that redness on your face, it gives your face definition." I 'sushed' her pretty angrily because she said it loud (my sister has no filter, lol) and at a bus stop. blush.png

My (now ex) boyfriend used to be so sweet about my skin. I was so insecure about it that I would wear concealer to bed. He told me that red marks couldn't possibly take away from my beauty and that I needed to trust his love for me. I miss him. He made me feel gorgeous and loved even at my worst.

I don't really have any red marks per say, some scars mostly caused by cortisone injections (x4--i regret the hell out of these eusa_wall.gif ) maybe one red spot which was caused by shaving with a dull razer this week

However... a lady decided two days ago that there was noooo possible way i was a nurse because i was so young. I asked why "oh your face..."

Get back to bed.*snaps fingers*

When I was younger: "I don't know why.. but your acne makes you look older", which was cool back then :) :P

My friend and I were getting ready for a party and I was putting my makeup on and complaining about my zits, the usual. I said that my acne was my only insecurity, and if I had clear skin I wouldn't care about anything else, and my friend said, "its awesome that youre so confident"

This might not make sense, but it kind of gave me more confidence

I've never gotten any positive comments from people about my acne, but I have complimented a couple of boyfriends when they get occasional breakouts. I know it's weird, but I think they look so cute and like teenagers. It reminds me of all the dudes I used to crush on or date back when I was a teen.

I guess just.. when people say I look attractive. Like I feel like my scars are all people can see sometimes, but when people still find me attractive it makes me feel good, like they can see past the scarring. I am a cashier at a local grocery store and every now and then a man will say, "hello, beautiful lady" or something like that and it makes my entire day. And I know it's not that I did my makeup well! Because you can't hide rolling scars with makeup, lol. My ex-boyfriend also said I was beautiful all the time and on days where I was really self-conscious he would actually kiss my scars. He didn't care and he always looked past them. It was the biggest relief to me in the world and I will never forget him for treating me so special.

My boyfriend, who has always been the most wonderfully supportive person and met me when my skin was at it's worst:

"I know you wear your hair down and you put on makeup when you go out because you're self-conscious, but I love seeing you without makeup and your hair pulled back at home because I get to see something no one else sees - how truly beautiful you are."

Aaaaaaaaw.

"What a lovely complexion!" To this day, I'm not sure what she meant, but it really stuck with me - thank you, nurse!

And sympathy (not pity) is always appreciated. This morning a coworker was telling me about dealing with psoriasis, and how hard that was. It was very kind.

As I get older and older my acne seems to fade away more and more.
Makes me guess my acne is hormonal . So the nicest thing someone has said anything about my acne was myself . I tell myself " yea, your getting through it. We're almost there " .

My mum came in to my room this morning and said that my skin is looking better especially my forehead and then remarked how soft it is.

That at least makes up for what my dad said the other day. We were at a restaurant (my family and I) and we were ordering desert. I didn't want anything because I'm not a desert person, never liked cakes or ice cream! My dad randomly said 'it's good you're not having anything because you've got enough spots as it is'. What I don't understand is why anyone thinks commenting like that is acceptable, or necessary, keep it to yourself FFS.
It breaks my heart that they say these things and don't understand what it does. Anyone with skin problems will tell you that it only takes one throwaway comment to completely change your mood (or even your life), especially if it's from someone close to you. It's hard not to hate the person but you refrain because you know they don't understand.
I suppose the thing I hate the most is the fact that everyday has something related to acne in it and I'm tired of it. Whether it be going to the doctors, someone making a comment good or bad, not going out because of it, discussing it in a wider context with my family. I'm determined to at least have a week where it doesn't come into my life in any way other than me doing my normal routine.

It's weird because every time I think my skin is bad, someone compliments me as opposed to when I think it's good, I get negative comments. This happens frequently and I don't understand. Is there something wrong with my eyes?!
