Hi guys,
Recently I learned about b5 as an acne threatment and I decided to give it a go. I will give you a short background story.
I am 19 years old male. Struggling with acne for 4 years now. 2 years ago I took doxycicline for around 6 months and it cleared me perfectly. 2 months again the worst thing happened and the pimples came back luckily not really wrost but still pretty bad. Since than not much has changed
So here is my b5 question. I've been taking 5 grams for 3 days now. Started first day with 1 gram second day 2 grams, third day 3 grams, and on the fourth I started taking 5 grams. Overall it has been a week since I started taking it. The reason I took a gram at first and than moved so slowly to 5 was I didn't really want to take 5 I wanted to take maximum 3 but I read up more on how it works and that it needs high doses so I decided to go as much as 5grams but no go for that 10 because I am still not willing to risk it.
The problem is that first 3 days there was no change, while I was taking the lower doses. Now that I've been taking 5 grams for 3 days my skin is still oily and I have 3-4 nasty inflammed and painfull zits. Its getting worst in short. I read that there could be an initial breakout so is that it? And how long does it last? Also if any of you are familiar with candida Its very possible that I have that in the stomach (because of the long antibiotic intake) and I am starting the diet now. Do you have any idea if the b5 will be a bad idea with candida? Oh, and what do you think about taking 5grams as appose to the 10 that most take? Is it a waste of time?
Short version.
I have been taking 5grams of b5 for 3 days after taking lower doses for 3 days before that. My skin is getting worst and worst. Should I be worried or that is the initial break out? Also how long does the IB usually last. And its very likely I have candida is b5 bad for candida? What do you think about taking 5grams as appose to the 10 that most take? Is it a waste of time?
Thanks guys! ![]()

I started seeing oily change on the 3 or 4 week
There first 2 weeks I broke out week 6th and 7th no pimples I shouldnt see pimples coming in but I'll be cool with a pimple weekly.
Give it time I was on 10g the first 2 weeks then I lowered to 6g.

You seem to think you have a Candida infection- why? Do you have any symptoms?
Personally the B5 regimen didn't work at all for me & caused digestive issues, but many report good results after a while. It might be best to go & see a dermatologist if your acne is back rather than self-medicate.

Use a B5 serum topically if possible from skinceuticals. U need to take some other amino acid with b5 for it to work I think.
