I have had acne since I was 14 (now 23), but last night- after drinking a glass of wine- my face then erupted into what I first thought were hives. They were gone by morning, but at the time I was really scared! Does this look like rosacea, or should I see an allergist?

It only lasted about 5 or 6 hours

I've heard that alcohol can cause damage to the blood vessels in the face...not sure if this is true or not, but maybe worth looking into.

One drink though? I think it would take prolonged alcohol use to get damage (years and years)

It looks like an allergic reaction, maybe to the sulfites.  Glad it's gone now

 

Try organic wine and see if it happens again.
